Stage Shows on Stateroom TV

In one month we'll be aboard the Dream, in Stateroom 8188, to be exact.

This is just a "get away and relax" trip, and an excuse to take our son to WDW for his first birthday. What better than to add a cruise to that, right?

He'll be turning 1 on 11/12/15, and his bedtime is around the 9pm time frame. We've decided to pass on the rotational dinners this time, and do Palo the first night (sending him to the nursery), then Cabanas the second night, and quick service or room service the third.

We've seen the shows on the Fantasy, but that was back on it's pre-maiden voyage. We didn't see any shows on the Dream when just my wife and I sailed in March 2014. Since then, we've heard that you can see the shows live on your stateroom TV. Is this true?

That would be very handy.

Yes, they are on your stateroom TV. That being said, I don't know if they are live. I do recall however that there was a contemporary joke made during Villains Tonight that I saw on TV. It may have been live or very recently recorded. Have you used the nursery before?

Gotcha, thanks. Do they run continuously on one of the channels, or do they play them when the shows are actually happening?

Yes, this will be our first cruise with a child. We've sailed on the Fantasy and Dream, but our son will be turning 1 the day before we set sail. So, first experience with the nursery. We have a few times booked, and may add a third in case he enjoys it. He's a pretty happy kid.

Tom, I am not sure if they are on continuously, but they are on the same times the shows actually run.

I had my twin girls in the nursery earlier this year and they had a lot of fun. The attendants in there were awesome. The wife and I were of course slightly apprehensive about leaving them, but after speaking with the CMs, we just felt instantly better. We had a few hours booked and would at times call the day of and see if there was any more room. If there was, we were accommodated. We have two more sailings in the next six months booked and we will not hesitate to let them play in there. We really could not say enough good things about the staff.

That's good to hear. We toured all the kid areas and nursery on the Fantasy when we sailed on the Travel Agent/Media pre-maiden voyage and we were quite impressed. We'll test it out with Palo the first night. If he hates it, we'll cancel the rest. But I suspect he'll be just fine and we'll be able to enjoy some alone time around the ship.

We watched Villains Tonight! late, maybe around 11 PM. We had seen it in the theatre earlier in the voyage but enjoyed watching it again. I think they have a number of times they show it.

It is continuous through the showing of the next night's stage show. We have watched it whilst getting ready in the morning or over in-room breakfast. We have also watched it after late night trivias.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the shows are available on the On-Demand feature as well on the night that they run.
