This thread is now open. The general idea for Oct is complete. But please check back, as we may be adding requirements as we think of them.

Remember, if you have suggestions for themes, embellishments, papers etc for our challenges, please PM me, or use the suggestion thread. We are working to get this calendar and the suggestion thread to be a sticky topic for us. Til then, you will probably see these 2 threads being bumped.

I want to say Thank you to ALL those who have participated, and contributed to this subforum. You guys/gals are the ones to keep it alive and challenging.

To all readers: This is open to ALL. Digital scrappers/photo manipulators as well as traditional paper scrappers.



Welcome to our new Weekly Challenge calendar. The dates/days have changed a bit, due to the actual use now of a real calendar. LOL There will now be some days off. Hopefully, that will give us a break to refresh ourselves.



September:

20-30: Take the week off and enjoy yourselves, you deserve it! Remember to have FUN.

October: I think the major overall theme for this month will be Circles (i know we used that before but so what. LOL )
1-8: Theme: Epcot (old or new pics are ok) Requirements: Vertical Title, and spaceship earth must be included.
8-15: Theme: Pumpkins.. you can use last years if you don't have any for this year yet. Requirements: journaling must be included.
15-22: Theme: family Requirements: color Orange, title or journaling must be in circles
22-29: Theme: Halloween, you can use anything disney or your own home pics. If you want to use pics of this years halloween, then make the layout and leave the picture spot blank, then when you get your pics you can add them. Requirements: Black background paper, patterned or not, but black must be dominant. Also, try not to have your title straight, try to make it creepy. At least one circle must be included also, even if it is a hidden circle. Try to be creative on this one.

November: The overall theme for the month will be the letter "F" fall, fun, family, food, furry friends etc
1-8: Theme: Letter "F" Requirements: colors: brown, yellow and maroon in any order of your choice, but all 3 must be used. 2 "F"olded papers must be used also.
8-15: Theme: "F" irst time Requirements: "F"eel "F"ree to choose "F"or yourself (LOL)
15-22:Theme: "F"amily Outdoors Requirements: "F"all leaves as embellishments
22-29: Theme: "F"inally Mix and Match Requirements: pick 1 requirement from each week of November.

December: The last challenge week will be a short one, due to the holidays.
3-10: Old look, old paper, vintage, black and white, requirements: lace
10-17: Recipes/food
17-21: Give the gift of love, use only 1 picture

We will pick back up in January. start thinking about yourself. we will be working on scrapbooking ourselves.

Is this the same as the weekly challenges, or is it something different?
Where do we post our entries for the challenge?

And as far as some requirements:
The use of vellum
Use "paper folding" somewhere on the page
Use fibers (ribbons, yarn, etc) somewhere

Topic Suggestions:
Retro-themed page--can use modern pictures, but make the overall page look retro
Recipe page--higlight your favortie recipe on a scrapbook page (good near x-mas)
Food--can be disney, or anywhere.

I'd also say look at the weekly photo contest topic list for ideas, the pictrues required there may prompt you to think of a topic for here.

this is the same as the weekly challenges, except the above is for a heads up, in case someone does not get to posting a week or are late, you will beable to see what is scheduled.

but there should be a new thread every week still for posting our layouts.

I've got to get into this!

Few more suggestions for topics:
Personal page---I think people sometimes forget to include themselves in their scrapbooks

TV Show themed page---this can be a million things--you could compare yourself/your family to that of a famous tv show, use a quote from your favorite show, use the outline of a tv, use the "format" of a show opener (I'm thinking brady bunch or the price is right here) etc.

How about a page where you have to use like 6-8 pictures on one page.

Or a page where you can only use paper as your embelishment. You can cut it and glue it, but nothing else. No pens, no stickers, no eyelets, etc. This is a cheap way to get creative and make a great page because embelishments are so expensive!

Recycling page--use things recycled from around your house as embelishments. The only thing "purchased" that you are allowed to use on the page is the paper and your pictures.

"journaling page" a page where the journaling is the higlight of the page. one or two small pictures may be used, but the journaling must stand out.

I think that's it for now. I'll let you know if i have any other ideas.
