I was wondering where im able to rent those little power boats, i think there called sprite boats, the ones with the outboards on them that go really fast. I think you can rent them at the polynesian, but im not sure. How much are they? how far can you go in them? any info would be greatly appreciated :-)

You can rent them at the Poly, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Yacht & Beach Clubs... They are a great way to cool off, we used to spend hours riding around Bay Lake...

I think that the best place to rent them from is the Contemporary. You can ride around Bay Lake then go over to see the Magic Kingdom.:animwink:

The water mice at the Contemporary are the best. Just stay away from the ferry, or the "boat police" will end your ride early with no refunds.

If you're into speed (22mph) boats be sure to check them out at the MK resorts. The ones at bardwalk are a lot slower since the lagoon is so small as for the 7 seas lagoon there's a lot more space to 'run' around. so make sure you checkem out at the MK resorts!!!!

They're really nice, BTW the official Disney name for this boats are "Mouse Boats". The speed depends on where you rent them, the fastest ones are the one at the MK Resort area. If you rent them at the Boardwalk, the Coronado or at DD they will be a lot slower

even if you aren't staying at one of teh resorts, if you have the time to do so, go to the Seven Seas Lagoon to get the water mice. I wish I could have done this this year, but I was staying at the Caribbean Beach resort and we didnt have time to go to the lagoon because we were leaving soon, so I just rented them there, and there is like zero room to use them. I had it for like a half hour, and although it was kinda cool for my first time renting them, it got really monotonous going back and forth and back and forth in the small little lake there. I would just love to get a speed boat at the SS lagoon and zoom around by all the resorts and the MK entrance!

just a suggestion, but you should consider renting one of the sailboats!! The water sprites are ok, but they're just not as cool as feeling the wind at your back and casually cruising around bay lake and/or seven seas lagoon. Just imagine your sail full of wind as you see the towers of cinderella castle!!! For me, the sailboats FAR surpass the little speed boats (they are significantly cheaper to rent too.)

We rented a pontoon boat at the Contemp, so that we could all ride together, we took cold drinks and chips on with us. Itwas a super way to spend some time and at @ $30 for half an hour a bargain at Disney prices:animwink:

Mouse Boats??? Don't know where you get your information from, but they are called "Water Mice"...

No, he is correct. The NEW name for them, as of a few years ago is "Mouse Boat" and they had been called "Water Sprite" from the first time they offered them for rental.

The term water mice is just an unofficial name for referring to them in plural, but CMs (If somebody is watching) usually just say Mouse Boats. The reason is this is yet another homage to THE Mouse. Even though Donald Duck loves water, wears a sailor's outfit, had various boats in the cartoons, he is ignored. Why exactly is that? Yet another example of Mickey's blackmailing of Walt, I think. :)

They really should be called Donald's Boats.

But remember to take into consideration how much wind there is that day! I saw a guy struggling with a sailboat at Carribean Beach for like 15 min before some CM's came out and brought him back in.

I just have to chime in here, but I was there in February, and they were listed as a Water Mouse on the rental sheets and that is how the CMs referred to them as well.
