Hi all, just putting this out there to see if there are any Spring 2008 PI hopefuls hanging around. Even if we haven't gotten accepted yet, we can get through the interview process together. To start:

I'm Ashley, applying for a Vet Hospital PI at DAK.

Your turn!!!

I'm also Ashleigh! I don't know if I'm doing the Spring 2008 PI, it might be sometime in 2009, but I'm doing something dealing with animals! What is your major in?

Hi! My major is Biology. I've already had an internship in Cincinnati, Ohio at the zoo along with my current job there. I'm really looking forward to see what WDW has to offer!

That's cool! My major is currently bio also, but I think I'm going to change it since I've figured out I pretty much hate it. Trouble is I don't know what I want to change it to. I had originally wanted to be a vet at either a zoo or at an aquarium. I was thinking about doing the Vet Hospital PI or the one at the Living Seas. Not too sure yet! Do you have any suggestions on what I should switch my major to? I'm not totally for sure I want to be a vet just yet. What else could I do with animals?

Can I join the pow-wow? I'm an ex-Bio major! :D I would love to do a PI in 2009, but I'm so nervous about the application process, especially since I don't have much experience right now. Haha. Looks like I'm freaking out 2 years early. As for majors, I'm doing Latin American Studies...interesting, but I have no clue what I'm going to do with it. I'd suggest economics and/or business as the safest bets, but maybe go for an interesting liberal arts minor? Just my opinion. If I could start over, I would have tried to take more classes on literary criticism and theory.

If you are really interested in animals but aren't liking Bio, you might look into psychology. A lot of animal behaviorists started out that way, but if you are more interested in something like zookeeping rather than research, nothing beats those bio classes when looking for a job, believe me I know from firsthand experience.

Just to keep everyone posted, I've completed my first interview last Thursday, and I've been recommended for a second interview. The interview was for the Management Operations PI.

Let's hope for two more phone calls for the other two: Communication Technology and Media Relations.

Yea! :sohappy:

Until next time...

I applied for Cast Deployment and College Program Operations about two weeks ago.. still haven't heard anything, not even for a first interview. Should I still keep my hopes up?

I graduated from school this past May. I know the PIs are intended for college students, but I emailed questions@disneyinterns.com and was told that you can apply for a PI up to 6 months after graduation. Do any of you know anyone who's been offered a PI after college?

So nervous.. I applied for a bunch of graphic design-related PIs. I had my first phone interview today, but they said they still had to receive my eligibility status or something like that from the Casting department.

Any thoughts?

I applied for some for Disney Design Group, but haven't heard anything yet. If you applied for positions with them, I've been told by an intern there that extensions were offered to them, so if they accept the offer new interns may not be taken this semester. I'm hoping I can get one, but kinda lost hope after hearing this....as for eligibility, not totally sure, but I think they look at your record card. And if you are a current employee you have to meet transfer guidelines.
