Sports and Mickey

So when I was down in WDW, I was hoping to find a hockey jersey or something at least hockey related with Mickey. Well, DTD didn't offer anything in their sports store and there was nothing in the parks either.

I was pretty bummed. I know that ABC owns ESPN which covers just about all sports, but would it kill Disney to make some hockey stuff?

I know that NBC and ABC are at war over sports contracts, but really, how hard is it to put a pair of skates on the mouse and slap it on a jersey!!!

Anyone else have a case like this where bigger corporate things get in the way of having nice souvies?

They might, but I'm doubtful. NBC owns the hockey contract and ABC gets to cover nothing hockey. Ask any NHL fan who watches SportsCenter on ESPN how much they covered hockey this past season (here's a hint, unknown sports were getting more air time than the NHL).

This is why I believe that there is nothing hockey related with Mickey and it's unfortunate. I came across many a hockey fan down in WDW.

I'd like to think so, but who knows. The only NHL brand gear I saw was in the Canada pavilion in Epcot, obviously, but it was all the Canadian teams (makes sense, lol).

It was just a shock that it was one of the only sports that had nothing.
