One evening while trying to beat the rain, a friend and I tried to cut through the Boardwalk Inn to get to the Villas.
We entered on the side closest to the ESPN club end of the Boardwalk and proceeded through the ground floor hallway towards the center of the resort. We came to a dead end realizing that we needed to go up one level to pass through the lobby.
As we headed back to find an elevator or stairs, we came across what appeared to be a stairwell that was in the middle of the hallway at a junction (the hallway went both ways on both sides of the "stairwell".) It was aparent that there was some construction going on in whatever room was on the side of the hallway, so we hoped that the stairway would be open. Upon opening the door, the enclosure was not a stairwell at all, but rather a room about fifteen feet across that went absolutely nowhere but up- honestly it was like the stretching room in HM. It was small, round and went up. The crazy part, it wasn't just an enclosed ceiling. One floor up there was a railing where the "room" opened to the second floor.
It was creepy because the thing was like a lion's den or something- there was one door, nothing else and it was open to the floor above.
The question is- why on earth would this room exist??? :veryconfu
