Some people have seen an advance of Morbius and have posted what the two post-credit scenes are, which are totally cray cray. On top of that, the director confirmed and expounded on those spoilers, which is super cray cray.
You clicked on a spoiler thread, so, you were warned, here is a summary of the two post-credit scenes:
Let's bullet point this:
All these points (that weren't question marks) were confirmed by the director.
I think Disney had been hoping that the Venom-verse would fail so as to completely take back control of the Spider-Man family. This may be what they were hoping for.
You clicked on a spoiler thread, so, you were warned, here is a summary of the two post-credit scenes:
Let's bullet point this:
- Previous trailers showed Toomes/Vulture talking to Morbius in prison. Those scenes with Toomes are gone from the movie, he only appears in the post-credit scene now.
- In No Way Home, people from other universes who knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man were drawn into the MCU (which is Holland's Spider-Man's universe). This included villains from other universes (Dock Ock, Goblin, Sandman, Electro) as well as other Spider-Mans (Maguire & Garfield).
- In NWH's post-credit scene, this also drew in Hardy's Venom, who is in the same universe as Morbius.
- At the end of NWH, everyone forgot that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, and the people from the other universes (villains and Spider-Mans) went back to their own universe, including Hardy's Venom (except for a tiny piece of the symbiote left behind at the bar).
- People from the MCU, who knew Holland's Spider-Man was Peter Parker, stayed in the MCU, including Doctor Strange, MJ, and Ned.
- However, Toomes/Vulture is a MCU villain who battled Holland's Spider-Man in the MCU, and SOMEHOW, he got sent to the Venom/Morbius universe.
- Yes, Toomes knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man, but, so did Strange and Peter's friends and they didn't get sent to a random universe.
- When Toomes shows up in prison in the Venom/Morbius universe, he gets released because no one knows him there and there's nothing to charge him with.
- Is there a Toomes variant in the Venom/Morbius universe who switched places with him? Who knows?
- Then, SOMEHOW, Toomes re-creates the Vulture suit
- The original MCU Vulture suit was made from Chtauri tech, and in the Venom/Morbius universe, there was no Chtauri invasion. So, where did he get the suit from? And how could he have cobbled together the tech and the cash to do so starting out as a penniless John Doe?
- So, then Toomes tracks down Morbius (HOW?) and asks if they want to team up to take down Spider-Man.
- Even though, the movie showed zero motivation as to why Morbius would care to take down Spider-Man
- Even though, Toomes must know that the Venom/Morbius universe's Spider-Man is not the one he battled in his MCU universe... or is he going to go back to the MCU SOMEHOW to kill him?
