Split Stay: moving day

I see @CaptainAmerica started a Split Stay thread, so not to hijack, I also have a question about split stays. I'm staying 3 nights at GF Villas, and then 3 at BLT. Can I work with the resorts (presumably Bell Services) to help transfer our luggage and food items? Perhaps I simply pack-up and leave everything neatly with GFV Bell Services then when my BLT room is ready, I can contact BLT Bell Services to bring it up later in the day????

Or will I be responsible for getting my stuff to BLT upon GFV check-out?

Thanks for your help!

Pack up all your things and either take them to (or call for assistance) GF Bell Services. They can handle transferring your belongings to BLT. Be aware this can take several hours (morning to mid-afternoon). Once you are in your new room, call BLT Bell Services and they will deliver your items to you (you must be in your room at the time of delivery.)

Thanks Tuvalu. That's good to know. I guess it will be best to utilize this service if we checkout rather early, and are okay with check-in at BLT in the afternoon to assure our belongings have at least made it over.

Honestly, if you have a car I would pack up your stuff and move it yourselves to BLT. That's what we do when we have our own car and have a split stay. If our new room happens to be ready early in the day, we have our belongings and can immediately unpack and settle in.

But if we fly, we use Bell Services to transport from one resort to the next. Everything has always arrived fine, but I am always warned it will not be at resort #2 until mid-to-late afternoon.

Thanks everyone. I will be renting a car so sounds like the safe thing to do is pack up and bring my stuff over myself. A little bit of a pain, but while my wife gets the kids ready in the morning I'll be the mule. Heck, I'll grab a coffee and get a few minutes of peace in the morning before the day really gets started!

we are doing our 1st split stay (AKL > BLT). Wont have a car so we are relying on bell services which i'm fine with.

Our strategy is to split-pack. So instead of each family member having their own suitcase with all their stuff, we will be packing an AKL suitcase set and a BLT set. This way the BLT ones never even get opened until we get to that resort—hence less stuff to worry about re-packing before we move over. The only stuff that should need to be repacked is the toiletries.

Also, not sure if you know, but if you are on the dining plan, apparently you need to use all of your credits before you change resorts. Its considered 2 separate plans. Highly annoying IMO.

This is what we're doing, but our split is 7 / 1, so our second stay luggage will only be an overnight bag.

Yeah, that's messy. I'd advise not checking in at the second resort until as late as possible (i.e. after dinner) on your moving day.
