Splash Mountain Water Cannons

Hi all... just got back... had a great time

Anyway, I was glad to see everything working on Splash Mountain. All effects that I could remember were operational, including the water cannons that create a fake splash at the big plunge.

As I started on my first of two trips on the ride, everthing was going smoothly. Right before the second lift hill, I knew that we might get a tad wet from those water cannons. WRONG. I got completely drenched, from head to toe. I could not believe I had gotten this wet already.

On the way down the large hill, the water cannon struck again, this time shooting a steady stream of water directly into the path of our log and eventually into my face, which was a little shocking and slightly unpleasant due to the speed of our vehicle.

I was hit in the face on my second trip as well. It seemed that the cannon was not actually trying to shoot when we passed it. I think it was more of a contsant flow of water.

Just kind of interesting. Has anyone else experienced this?

I pretty much always get drenched by the cannons--at least when they are working. They crank them up on hot summer days like these.

I love riding Splash Mountain when it's really cold out because contrary to what the guests may think, you don't get wet at all. I've gone on it when it's like 40° and it's night time and there's NO ONE on the ride...

This past late January/early February, Orlando got hit with a bit of cold weather.....high 40's at night, and 50's during the day.
My cousin, friend and myself were there for 6 days at the All Star, and we too rode Splash when it was cold.
They shut the cannons off.........thank God! The spray from the drop was enough to turn us into popsicles.......of course, with virtually NO CROWDS, we rode it 4 times in a row.

Kali was quite chilly that week too.

i was there last week and early in the ride when you pass the front of the big drop i saw the boat in front of us get soaked and prayed that we didnt... well we didnt but on the drop i noticed the water cannon and came off completely soaked. but i loved it and went right back on beacause of the short lines during EMH

Me too, that's the best time to ride.

Never knew this. Does anyone know if they make the drenching less intense at nighttime, too? How easy is it to change the intensity?

I think this says it all...

If you could only see my right side. That first cannon, as you're going up and through that barn-type thing at the beginning of the ride) got me good!

There are no water cannons pointed at the guests. The two that shoot that make the splash on drop 4 are made for people who are on the bridge see a big splash and you're going down the drop. but usually when you are going up B lift you can get wet from the splash cannons. But going down the big drop, you usually get wet from the actual splash unless there is a leak there somewhere

There are actually two locations where watercannons are pointed at guests. The obvious one is the powerful cannon pointed at the viewing bridge. If it is working, then it goes off every few times a log goes down the big drop and shoots viewing guests with water.

The other one you mentioned. It actually is a cluster of watercannons (both sides of the hill), one of which has a very large gauge. This one put a large volume of water on some guest going up the second lifthill.

As for going down the hill, this high gauge cannon was pouring excess water while on standby into the path of my log. It made me quite wet, which was fun but unexpected.

i agree, when you go down the last drop if your in the left side of the boat you will see a water cannon pointed right in your direction
