Here's the final wallpapers for the Splash Contest.

Important side note:
Some of the entries this time around WERE NOT THE CORRECT SIZE. This will serve as the only warning:

Entries that are not the correct size for the next contest will not be accepted.

I made it to the finals!

This was a very fun contest - I really like that almost everyone had completely unique source pics - not many of the same sources (or at least not blatantly so).

Good work! Yo quiero the M:S license plate...

I have an idea for the next prize: A M:S ladder!

Well, all i know is that after all the effort i put in I'm not too sure how many contests i'll ever enter again.

Just wanted to allay a few concerns...

Have heard now from a few people about thinking my wallpaper is just a scan from a postcard... the main image is from Google Image search... it's actually used twice in the image, two separate pieces. There are actually 6 total layers on the whole.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

P.S. Turns out the original image, minus the careful edits I made, is from an old postcard... from Disneyland... http://www.disneylandpostcards.com/bctoonsm.jpg. I didn't know that when I grabbed the image... and I didn't notice until just now that the image is of the Disneyland version of the ride, with a single-rider setup... my focus was on the characters and the source image and how I could edit it to make it do what I wanted. I don't know if this will disqualify my entry... but I like it still, so that's what matters.

Well, all of us grabbed a source image from somewhere. So you really haven't done anything different from the rest of us. Some spent more time working with the image than others, but that's to be expected, simply because different people have different tastes.

Also, a reminder. PLEASE, do not vote based on the thumbs. They are there only for immediate reference so you can easily identify who's is whos. Refer to the actual size entries to decide. These are made to be wallpapers for a desktop or laptop, and may look completely different at full size. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but your wallpaper and the postcard on the link you provided are not the same picture. It really doesn't matter where you got the picture as long as you put some work into it. I would say that if all you did was scan a picture without a little creative editing then maybe someone could complain. But none of us "created" our base pictures, we just built on them.

I think the only reason folks might be curious about your pic is the barcode in the lower right corner. You should have edited that out.

Don't worry this is for fun. Oh, wait it's for a prize. Forget what I said, I want a recount!..j/k..:lol:

Actually, the bar code is my design - it's impossible to see on the thumb, and it doesn't show up as well as I hoped it would on the full-size, but if you look really closely, it says Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah in bar code... it was my hidden tribute to the music from the attraction.

Yeah- this is my first one that got more than 1 vote (me)

I started out using Paint, and soon figured out PSP7, and now I am getting good at it!

I've been going through all the old wallpapers to help out MSU on the "Past Winners" post- and you wouldn't believe how bad some peoples were a while back, and how much they've improved... Its amazing!

I really want to see everyone here enter again, and good luck to everyone whos in the Finals!

Apart from my last entry, all my entries got like..........1 vote!! :lol:

They were AWFUL!!! :lol: My Exp. Everest one was shameful, luckily you don't know which one it is :lol: Maybe one day I will tell you all :lol:

lol... well, mine was pretty bad too... Looking back, I can think of some really good ideas for some of the old contests, but its too late now :hammer:

Hmm... thats weird...

Anyways, I'm not the best at it, but I'm starting to get the hang of PSP... so if anyone needs any help with it, I'd love to help!
