The spitting camel in front of the magic carpet ride in Adventureland... Is it controlled by a CM?

I read an article that claimed it is controlled by somebody. I was automatically skeptical because there always seems to be a few wet spots on the ground the camel continuously hits. And it also just seems silly. Why waste a CM on a spitting camel?

But, I found a lot of websites and sources that said it is controlled by a CM. So, is this true?

The camel was part of a Float during the run of Aladdin's Royal Caravan at Disney*MGM.
