Hi! It's been years since we have been to the Luau - last attendance was in 1990, when we were married, but we are planning to go this time for my daughter's birthday. I was just wondering, do they still hand out the shell leis?

I've gone the past two years and have never gotten a shell lei we have gotten like fake flower leis.

Thanks Brian - I may have to dig in the memory bucket to see if I can locate the shell one to wear. At least you get a flower one - can't see not getting one at a Luau.

You will always get a lei... made out of fake flowers. There are many different colors... you never know what you're gonna get!!!

They haven't handed out the shell leis in years!

Well it was 1990 when we got married, so a lot can change in almost 18 years. :lol:

Flower leis are all yur gonna get. Mine stayed on for all of 3 seconds before it started itching my neck! Still, it's a nice touch which add's to the atmosphere.

We are doing this for the first time since our honeymoon in '95. We too got the shell lei's.
