I've ridden the Spiderman ride a hundred times and loved it every time. But there was one time in particular that I especially enjoyed. The ride broke down about a third of the way through. Everything stopped and went black for about 10 seconds. (which seemed like an eternity) Then the voice of Peter Parker came on urging everyone to remain calm. Then all of the lights came on and the ride continued the rest of the way slowly, and in complete light. And in keeping with the spirit of the ride, the voice of Peter Parker continued to talk everyone through the breakdown until the end. I felt pretty lucky not only to see the ride in the light, but to hear dialog from the ride that most people never get to hear. It was odd to see all the complex machinery with the lights on. The drop at the end was a real eye opener. Not much of a drop at all. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience on any other rides, and if the voice that came on over the speaker was in character.

When I was at EPCOT and riding Test Track, a similar experience happened. We came outside, went on to the high speed loop and on to the straight were it suddenly began slowing down, finally moving at about 1 mph, if that. The end of the straight came nearer, and soon we started moving on to the incline where you are next to the building. We got to the steepest part, and it was quite painful, because your body digs in to the seat belt. At this part (steepest), we came to complete halt, and waited there for 1-2 minutes! It wasn't pleasant on the ribs but we made fun of it, (my brother was in the front, as we were lucky when we did single riders). The crowd below were down below and could see us, and we were shouting 'Help!' jokingly. Anyway, after about 2 mins we cheered as it started moving. and then accelerated to quite a speed for a second before slowing down and entering the building. I'm telling you, you don't realise how steep Test Tract is until you come to a complete halt!
