Spiderman - How Scary?

I have a 4 y/o who is really buying into all the Spiderman movie hype. We will be in Orlando in October and I was considering doing one day at IOA so he can meet Spiderman & have his pic taken (and I get to see a *guy* in spandex for a change - lol). He is tall enough to ride the attraction but he can not tolerate anything too scary ie - he was afraid of some of the monsters in Monsters Inc. but we didn't have to leave the theatre.

We have 2 other kids ages 7 and almost 2. The 7 year old loves roller coasters and thrill rides and will be tall enough for everything except Dueling Dragons and Hulk. All 3 kids love Dr. Suess. So should we go for just one day? Not sure when we'll be in Orlando again. Thanks!

S M is intense for small children.. 3D characters pop out and may be scary at times.. If you have seen the S M Villians ... They are scary and almost all of them are in the ride and the ( Interact with you ) during diffrent portions of the ride.. So expect them to be all in your face.. I can imagine some parts to scare little kids.. But if your child gets scared just tell em' to shut his eyes and it shouldnt be half as bad... Alot of 4D effects are used meaning you will get wet, jolted, and even heated during the ride.. It is defintly worth the hype.. Just tell him it will be ok and to shut his eyes if he gets scared..

I think your little guy would love it especially if Spidey is his hero, my nephew aged 5 rode the ride 8 times when they visited at Christmas and he isn't a particularly brave boy. By the end of the day spiderman knew his name and was taking him by the hand to find the X-men, he actually enjoyed IOA more than WDW Strange child

Some of the effects are really intense in this ride. Not to spoil anything if you haven't been on it, but the finalie of the part where you fly scares many adults. The villians that attack you throughout the whole ride may firghten small children, but remember that this ride is based on a comic book. It can't be that bad. It's not rated PG 13 like some rides at Universal. I think you defitinally should go on it. Like already said, if it gets too scary, your child can always close their eyes. It's only 4 and a half minutes long...

If your little one is a Spiderman fan, he will love the ride. I think it it is one of the best rides in Orlando, and my son, who is 9, does not like coasters, but will ride Spiderman as many times as we can!

I thought it was the most scarey ride of all. I was shaking all over when I got off. I still want to go on it again. I frightens me just to think of it.

One day should be plenty at IOA. It is a great park....I'm not saying anything about that, but one day would be sufficient.

My 5 year old went on Spiderman & loved it. She did say it was a litle scary & she looked a tad bit shaken afterward, but when I asked if she wanted to go again, she did say "YES!". She got a little bit freaked out by 3D villains getting a little too close. I have heard of some children being really bothered by the ride & some loving it. It's so hard to say for each individual child, but you'd be the best judge. Good luck! Have fun!! :sohappy:

Not recommended...

I wouldn't recommend it for a four-year old. Heck, it was even hard for me to keep my eyes open!

Always depends on the child, but my 5 year old loved it.

He did cry when one of the characters died, those who know the Spidey origin will probably work out which one. Apart from that he thought it was 'AWESOME Dad!'
