Specific Dining Needs

Hellooooo my fellow WDWMagic-ers! I'm planning a December trip and with 4 people going, with their particular eating needs/habits, I'm finding it difficult to sketch out my ADRs. Here's the situation: I will eat pretty much anywhere, so I am not the problem ;). My mother insists that every meal be a "dining experience," which means the ambiance and food better be high quality. My dad has been having dietary issues lately, so no heavy foods for him. My friend is a picky-ish eater and cannot do anything spicy.

So where does that leave me?? So far, I have Le Cell for (hopefully) the Candlelight Processional dining package, Kona for breakfast on the last day, and I want to try Raglan Road. We usually do Citrico's, which I guess we could do again, but I was hoping for something different. My mother wrinkled her nose when I suggested Jiko (even though I love it!). Maybe Narcoossee's or Cali Grill? I need to fill 2 dinner spots. I loved Flying Fish on my last trip, so we could do that too. What do you guys think?

Artist Point might be one you want to look at. Sanaa is another great place, but if your mom turned her nose up at Jiko, I would imagine you would get a similar reaction to Sanaa. There is also the tried and true Victoria and Albert's, but that will require a suit and tie for your dad.

Just FYI....Disney is one of the most accommodating places I have ever seen when it comes to dining. If you see something on a menu that is close to what you want, but needs something left out or tweaked they will be more than happy to do it.

I'd suggest you get on the Disney restaurant Menu sites with everyone and review the menu selections. That will give them all a heads up about whats available for choices and help direct you to some of the restaurants more suited for their likes. Yes... The chefs are very accommodating and can tweak the meals for guests with dietary issues. Let your CM server know when you are seated so they alert the kitchen and they will come to your table and discuss it with you.

My wife has a severe seafood allergy and all of the restaurants have been very accomodating with coming out to speak with us and "tweaking" anything that needed to so there was no reaction. We ate at Coral Reef which was a risk, but ended up being a great meal. O'hana even went next door to fry some potstickers in different oil for us. Knock on wood, but we have never had an issue.
