Spaceship Earth vs Jour into Im w/ Figment

Incredibly different rides....I know.

Here's the purpose of my thread question:
My wife, myself and my daughter have been to Spaceship Earth 4 times. Three of the four times were when my daughter was in elementary school. Our upcoming visit is this November....a month in which our daughter will turn 17.
The last time we visited Epcot was maybe 4 or even 5 years ago.
Has Spaceship Earth been updated in any way?
*
We've never been to Journey into Imagination w/ Figment. A google search says its been in Epcot since 1983. I don't know how :oops:we missed it. WHERE in Epcot IS it?o_O On a Youtube video of the Figment ride I watched about 2 and a half minutes then I stopped it early. It doesn't seem amazingly fun. Low tech? I'm not familiar w/ Figment. A dinosaur Disney invented for Epcot? Never in a popular Disney movie, correct?
*
So....I'm seeking opinions please...
For my initial 3 Fastpasses I only have two solid choices
Soarin'....'cause I just think it's cool even though I've been on it 4 times.
Frozen Ever After.....because we've never seen it.
*
What should be our 3rd?
My wife and daughter will want Test Track....so maybe I'm actually really asking what should be 4th ride of the day after we've burned our first 3 FPs?
*
Is Spaceship Earth worth seeing a 5th time?....or.....is the Figment ride more fun than it looks on Youtube and I should try it 'cause we've never seen it?

No
You won't be able to pick Soarin', Frozen Ever After and Test Track as your initial three Fastpasses as they're all in Tier 1, where you can only pick one attraction from five - the other two being Illuminations and the Character Spot:

Group A (Choose 1 attraction)

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
Frozen Ever After
Soarin'
Test Track
Epcot Character Spot

Group B (Choose 2 attractions)

Disney/Pixar Short Film Festival
Journey Into Imagination With Figment
Living with the Land
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Spaceship Earth
Turtle Talk with Crush
Mission: SPACE Green
Mission: SPACE Orange

Oh that's too bad.....glad you told me rather than I get surprised on Sept. 7th when I go on MDE to make my selections.

OK.....how about my basic main question
See Spaceship Earth a 5th time or give Figment a priority visit 'cause we've never been?

From what touring plans is indicating, you can see what's left for today and how that should influence your fastpass priorities. I've found as one person, I can get a Soarin, SSE, The Land fastpass during the day I'm there as extra fastpasses....sometimes Frozen if I keep refreshing what's available on the app. If I do TT it's single rider.

Well Fast Pass is of some help but less than I first imagined. I was naive. Again, it is so good that you displayed this in such a convenient fashion for me. THANK YOU!!!!

You and the earlier poster have done a nice job to educate me. I will think this over and try to be on top of my game for my chance to select FPs on Sept. 7th......
.....I am still open to hearing from posters on the following two questions: #1 Is Spaceship Earth exactly the same as when we went 5 years ago?.........#2 Would two middle age parents and their 17 yr old daughter find the Figment ride to be "lame" or is it worth it just to see something new? (and WHERE IN Epcot is it?)

We haven’t been in the Imagination pavilion in years, but, it is located in the southwest corner of Future World. It’s just north of Canada on this map...

SSE was last “updated” in 2007. The narrator changed from Jeremy Irons to Judy Dench.
Personally, we’d rather ride SSE in it’s current rendition rather than Imagination in it’s current rendition. Although, IMO, both attractions were much better in the past.
Hope that might help.

The map helped a lot. Thanks! Truthfully, Epcot is not the greatest park for rides, huh? We Go mostly for the World Showcase countries. I guess we'll Fast Pass Soarin' and try to come to a family consensus on two Tier B rides....get them in as early as we can to give a chance to go on the app and try to grab another Tier A ride after our first 3 are used up. I almost long for the old days when we just showed up and got in line at our choices. All this pre planning is wearin' me out 😂😀

You’re welcome, no problem! :)
Back in the day, Future World was AWESOME (IMO) for rides!!! DWifey and I first visited together (she had actually been once before) on our honeymoon in ‘88, while all of the original attractions were still in Future World. Magically entertaining and educational unlike any other theme park, before or since!!!
It’s a shame what it’s devolved into.
And yes, the planning aspect of a WDW trip can get crazy, these days...I’ll just leave it at that... :cautious: ;) :)

Spaceship Earth is more popular and I'd rather do that again. The lines can really build there and you can have long waits. Figment isnt thrilling but it is somewhat entertaining. As you are approaching The Land, where Soarin is you will bear slight to the left. You will see the waterfall that flows upward on your left. The building is situated a short distance from The Land. On your trip shouldnt need a FP+ for Figment. There might be a short wait but not enough to waste a FP+ for it.

Thanks. That's great feedback. We need two FP choices from category B. Spaceship Earth might as well be one if the two. The other maybe I should try Mission Space? I think thereh are two choices? Intense and mild? Tell me about that anyone...please....thank you :)

You can ignore fancy charts. If your choice is SSE or JII the choice is simple. SSE. Imagination is a walk on and waste of FP.

MS is great fun. It runs on a centrifuge system. You load into a small ride capsule and you get shut inside. Some people who have claustrophobia find it hard to handle. As it starts to spin you dont really feel the spin but can get a sense of pressure. Some people have gotten queasy and choose less intense. Ive never had any issues and from the beginning when it opened, I ALWAYS GO INTENSE. You might try watching it on youtube to get a better picture of what it looks like and try riding the less intense option first then go more intense after you know what to expect.

Great suggestion. I've Youtubed a few rides already. I'll make Mission Space my next one ;)

We first rode M:S in the summer of 2004, about a year after it originally opened. There was no mild option at the time. Although, DWifey wouldn’t ride it on a bet, myself and all 3 of our kiddos LOVED it...!!!!! :joyfull: I’ll never forget myself and oldest DD talking about how cool it was to feel like our faces were peeling back on “takeoff” as we were exiting our first ride...sooooo cool...!!!!! :joyfull::)
Spinning rides can, sometimes, bug me a bit when I can see them spinning, but, M:S full-on has never bugged me...I can’t see that it’s spinning, but, I can feel those g-forces to satisfaction...!!!!!

I showed the Green(milder) Mission Space to my wife and daughter. They are interested.
So now it seems we have two locks....Soarin' and Mission Space (Green)
Gotta go out.
There 3rd one can be chosen another time :)
Thanks everyone!
