Awhile back, I someone asked what used to be in the top part of SPE (Where the projection of Earth is now) and I said that I remembered seing an animatronic astronaut floating around and everyone said that I was wrong and that there never was an astronaut. Well, my family and I were watching some old vacation tapes last night and on one from Oct. 1992, lo and behold on the video of SPE, there's the astronaut! Sooo... now we have a new question... why'd Disney take it down? :lookaroun

We actually ended up agreeing with you over the astronaut...there was some confusion because of Horizons.

Anyway...I dont know why they took him down...maybe it looked dated?

myself, i think the planet looks good in that part of spaceship earth... it sorta lets you know your going back to reality.. and into the hot weather in about 3 mins.. which makes you sad.. i dont remmebr the austronaut... but.. i dont really care i like earth up there.. o well my opinon, and as for that disney parade on christmas morning, i was VERY dissapointed... the music sucked.. and everything went so fast with hardly any of the parade (but of course i watched the whole thing...) o well !! happy new year *in a couple days*.... 2002!!

i go to disney in 37 days!!!
:0)
later!!
 :hammer: :slurp: :king: :sohappy: :p :D :) :animwink:

I agree that the disney parade was too fast-paced...and I would have liked to see some of the rides, most of which they neglected to show. Glad they decided to have military Christmas video-messages, but I didn't need to see two hours of them...and I could have done w/o the Baja Men...Regis didn't even bother to plug HIS attraction...I thought for sure he'd be down at Who Wants to Be a Millionaire--Play It! doing a show...I enjoy the 100 Years of Magic Commercials, however:)

now when your on spaceship earth and you enter that large domed room at the top they make it look like its about a thousand feet up, but my question is how high are you from the actual top of the ride?

I have no idea.... but the actual top of the ride is 180 feet high...so no matter how much of a difference, you are pretty high up there! :animwink:
