Not sure if this interests anyone here, but reading the Sheppard's Pie thread reminded me of something I wanted to post. Before my trip I asked if anyone knew if WDW restaurants had soy milk, since my kids and I (and hubby too, actually) are lactose intolerant and cannot drink milk straight, so we drink soy instead. I was told no, and to bring my own. Well, I did bring my own but decided to ask the servers anyway, and guess what???? EVERY single restaurant on WDW property that we went to (and there were many, both in the parks and at the resorts) had soy milk for us!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: I was so impressed!!! A few times the server told me they didn't have it at first. When I requested that they go in the back and ask anyway, they always came back surprised and said "YES! We actually do have soy milk, and I never knew!!!" They even had a really good (expensive) brand, and not some cheapo crap (not all soy milk is created equal, LOL!). So my point in sharing this with you all is that you should never be afraid to ask your server for anything special. They just might have it or be willing to prepare things to suit your dietary requirements and/or tastes.
Having said that, what is the deal with the recent switch to that fake butter?????? I had to specifically ask for REAL butter at every meal!!
I even had a couple servers tell me what they brought out WAS real butter, when in fact it is some newfangled, whipped up, margarine/butter concoction that tastes GROSS!!!! :hurl: It made me feel like Disney was really being cheap about that. And a few times I had to wait a long time for the kitchen to come up with the real butter for me (were they churning it themselves????). I hate fake butter!!! (Funny how I can handle a little butter, but not straight milk, huh??)
