Southwest Fall Fare Sale

You can do it online. Make sure the flights you want are available, then cancel your old reservation and rebook using the credits (you'll need your old confirmation number to access the credits). Good luck!
I just realized I cannot do this. It is for my parents and they get the early bird thing - where it automatically checks you in 24 hours before. I just found out the hard way that you lose this $$ if you cancel. My mom was supposed to come here, but my dad took a bad turn, so now she cannot. we lost the money for the early bird check-in.

We have some travel within the 1-year window, so it will come in handy for us. Plus, my parents were able to book under this special so they could come out for DD4's 5th bday. Bonus!

The original fare sale I booked under saved us a little over $400...now this sale has saved us an additional $500+... sooooo, around $930 savings betwen the 2 sales. Also makes you really think about air prices and just how grossly overinflated the non-sale prices really are.

I know, it's still flying out of Hobby...but $202 pp is something i just can't turn down.

You might try calling them. Their service is supposed to be really good and they may be willing to work with you on that if you explain your dad's condition.

thanks. already talked to someone about this. I might be able to get it back, but I am not counting on it. But in the case of these tickets for Orlando, I think we would definitely lose that. Although maybe I should call and ask. b/c technically when I had to cancel to the current trip, she was checked in for the first leg. hmmmmmm.

Can't hurt. I have a friend who flies SWA all the time and unfortunatley has to cxl/rebook quite frequently due to medical issues. I know he's got a pretty good track record with getting other charges like this refunded.

Not the case... sorry. Having done this, by phone... our EB was preserved - had the online agent check this, then verified it on the web.

Now, we never CANCELED anything... we just used the website to CHANGE a reservation. Hot Lava, I really think you should CALL an agent.... SW is not in the habit of stealing your money.
Yes. If you cancel your flight you DO Lose the early bird fee. If you only change the flight to a lower fare or even a different flight your early bird carries over. Only if you cancel do you lose your early bird fee

I checked, but changing wouldn't work for me.
My difference in price from when I originally booked was only $30.
Plus I had already done the Early Bird thing.
Plus I won't likely be flying again within a year.
