Southwest Airlines and Mickey's Magical Express

My Mother In Law told me that Southwest Airlines is not a 'preferred' airline for Mickey's Magical Express. So how do you get your luggage to the resort?? It is my understanding that you can not take the luggage on the bus with you.
This will be my first time using this system and I just want to make sure I don't have any problems. I will be flying with 4 kids so I need to plan, plan, plan.
Thanks!!

As long as you have the Magical Express tags on your bags, they'll deliver them to your resort. You just can't do check-in at the resort with Southwest. However, the lobby concierge people will be able to check you in online and print your boarding pass.

Disney's Magical Express is independent of the airlines. The luggage tags sent to you inform the baggage handlers at Orlando International Airport that they are to be sent to Disney. It has nothing do with the airline...you could arrive at the airport in a car and switchover to Magical Express if you wanted. Southwest simply doesn't allow you to check-in from your hotel when you leave Disney for the airport. And you can most certainly bring your luggage with you on the Magical Express (though it will be stored).

It doesn't matter what airline you fly. Any flight landing at MCO they will take your luggage to the resort if you use the tags and check in at DME [you have to check in or they'll leave your bags at the airport].

The list of specific airlines is for the Resort Check-In service, which allows you to check your bags at your resort and have your boarding passes provided. If the airline you're flying out with is not a participating airline, you can take your bags with you on DME and check in at MCO.

No worries! Have a wonderful vacation!
