My husband really likes the music that plays during the movie in the French Pavillion at Epcot. Does anyone know where I can get a recording of it or, even better, a list of all the songs that it samples? We've been trying to figure out one of the songs for years.

The "song" is entitled Impressions de France but what it is a medley of songs by famous French composers.

The "Impressions De France" medley is available on the Walt Disney World Resort Official Album 2000 - Copyright 1999 Walt Disney Records, #60658-7. I bought it at Epcot (actually, in the France pavilion) last summer. I'm sure you could order it. It might also be on a more recent CD.

Oops - I forgot to add this to my post. You can ask at the France pavilion, and they will give you a list of the classical music used in the medley! If you won't be visiting in the near future, you can try writing to Guest Relations at EPCOT (or the equivalent) and I'll bet they can steer you in the right direction. Good luck.

I think that I might have a list of these songs filed away somewhere at home (yes, I actually have filing cabinets with this sort of stuff in it  ) I'm at work on a Saturday because I have cold hearted blood ______________ bosses but if I do in fact have it and can find it, I'll be happy to post the list for you :)

I have the CD, I bought it in the park last month. It's great. On the inside of the CD it tells who the composers in order are, I'll list them below, but it does not tell the names of the pieces of the composers.

Debussy/Saint-Saens/Boieldieu/Ravel/Offenbach/Dukas/Satie/Baker

Ok, sorry I’m a little late with this but the songs are:

Solo for Flute, "Apres-midi d'un Faune"
Claude Debussy
"Aquarium" from "Carnival of the Animals"
Camille Saint-Saens
(heard while gliding along a river at the beginning of the film)
"Aquarium" theme played as a flute solo
Camille Saint-Saens
"Claire de Lune"
Claude Debussy
Concerto for Harp and Orchestra
Adrien Boieldieu
Suite #1 from "Daphnis et Chloe"
Maurice Ravel
"Finale" from "Carnival of the Animals"
Camille Saint-Saens
"Gaite Parisienne" (2)
Jacques Offenbach
"Le Peri" Fanfare
Paul A. Dukas
"Nocturne No. 1"
Claude Debussy
Section from "Symphony #3" (Organ Symphony), 4th Movement
Camille Saint-Saens
"Trois Gymnopedies"
Erik Satie

It was recorded in London by the National Philharmonic.…. Another interesting thing about this movie and it’s music is that it was the first motion picture to have its soundtracks recorded digitally and then to be taken digitally through every step of editing, mixing, and dubbing. Other films had previously been recorded on a digital soundtrack but were no carried through post production in a digital format. :D

PS: on Impressions Soundtrack

Mr Promney gave you the playlist. Additional music (transitions, brief themes) were written by Buddy Baker, who arranged the film score and conducted the London Symphony Orchestra in the soundtrack recording.

The familiar Trois Gymnopedies is played during the skiing scene, and of course it is the Organ Symphony you hear in the closing moments as you ascend the Eiffel Tower. Must be the Offenbach during the bicycle race.
