Can anyone tell me exactly what happens on Sounds Dangerous? I heard it's dark for almost 8 minutes or something. I was just wondering, what type os stuff happened, or somewhere on the interenet I could maybe ride the ride. I would like to see what it is like before I go on the ride.

If it is..yeah..its dark for most of the "show"...and all you can do is listen to them setting up odd events..

I am a big Drew fan...but I have only seen this show once during its inaugural year...Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is a MUCH better journey through the world of sound in my mind...I love coming off unable to hear anything! Skip Sounds Dangerous and ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster!

Yeah, it's not something you should plan on seeing. When you've done everything else in MGM, then you might wanna do "sounds dangerous."

I liked it, Spaceship Earth:
It's a theatre like the one Monsters Sound Show (or any theater) and the movie is about Drew Carrey being an Undercover policeman with a little weird case, so you start to watch the movie and suddenly the little camera he carries broke and so you are left with no vision at all. The theater is dark and the only thing you can do is listen through your ultra-tech earphones which use the Binaural system that lets you listen things as if they where coming from a specific place, so all the show you imagine what's going on, and it seems all what's happening is going on exactly around you, which makes a really interesting idea to me.
Just go and try it, and tell me what do you think.

Yes, but it works exactly like the little booths that they had at the end of the show in the interactive area (and as can be found in Conservation Station at AK)... It was cool that way but doing a whole theater thing for it seems a bit much. It hardly seems as efficient either since one whole big group of people have to go in at once and leave at once where in the other format, six or eight people would go into a little room at a time. I understand that it is a retrofit for the theater but I honestly thought it was a transitional attraction. I didn't think it was going to be something permanent and I think it is clearly a downgrade from the aging attraction that it replaced - that's what I really have a problem with. I can understand attractions becoming dated and getting removed. It happens. I don't like it when it's my favorite attraction (like JII) but that's life. What really miffs me is when they close an attraction and for whatever reason (money/space/time/all of the above) they replace it with an attraction of lower quality as I think was done here.

Personnaly, I liked it, but it wasn't THAT good....

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it but I think they could use that space for better effect. I think the original attraction was much better done. It was showing it's age (most notably in the two actors it featured, who's careers have pretty much fizzled) and probably was in need of an update or change... I just think they skimped a lot on what they replaced it with.

My family and I did this attraction a couple of years ago, and don't ever plan to do it again. I agree with Lance's comments, but with this revision:

"Yeah, it's not something you should plan on seeing. When you've done everything else in MGM, then you still might wanna do something else instead of Sounds Dangerous".

Thanks!

Thank You everyone. I don't care to much for the dark, so I was hoping it wasn't anyhting to much like the Alien Encounter (great ride by the way). Well thanks to everyone's response. I will see how my time is going, and I may get to it.
