Sorry..another Fastpass question.

Going to Disney May 8th - 23rd. Not a busy time of year but moderate nonetheless.

I refuse to make Fastpass reservations..simply because I like to be spontaneous on the day. So when I arrive at the parks can I still make FP reservations from a ticket machine or have they all been removed in light of FP+?

Also are there any single riders queues in any of the Disney rides?

Any help would be much appreciated.

There will be special kiosks where you can reserve your FP+ from within the park (most denoted with big signs, and some, but not all, located in old legacy FP machine spots). Here's an old list of their locations, but you'll want to check a map or query a CM when you arrive to find out the current locations in case they've changed... http://dvcnews.com/index.php/other-resources/2442-fastpass-kiosks-at-the-parks

It has been rumored that WDW holds back a certain number of FP+ for day-of guests, but there are conflicting reports. If there are popular attractions for which you really want a FP+, you may want to consider making them ahead of time so you don't arrive to find them "unavailable." You can always modify or replace them when you arrive at the park if you've changed your mind and want to be more spontaneous...

Single rider queues are still available where they were before (Expedition Everest, Test Track, Rock 'n' Rollercoaster). Given the tiering of the Epcot FP+ attractions (meaning you can't have FP+ for Soarin' and Test Track in the same day), I've seen some touring websites that now recommend using your one "first tier" FP+ on Soarin' and utilizing the single rider queue to shorten your standby wait time at Test Track.

Thank you for the helpful link and advice.

I was hoping space mountain might have single riders as I know that nobody else in my party will want to ride it!

I highly recommend you make fastpass reservations for the time you are going. Since they are pushing fp+ so much, many, many more people who never used the legacy fps are using the fp+. You can always change them if anything else is available when you get there.

In that case, you may want to "split" a FP+ between Space Mountain and one or more popular nearby attractions (e.g., Speedway, Buzz, or something in Fantasyland). I'm the only Space Mountain rider in my family, too -- so while I'm using a FP+ to jerk around the stars, the rest of my party will be using a FP+ to meet Anna & Elsa in Princess Fairytale Hall. (To do it, I initially made a FP+ for all of us for Space Mountain on MDE, and then changed it to the Anna/Elsa M&G for everyone but me when that M&G became available.) :)

Thank you I am meeting my party this weekend so we'll have a look and hopefully be able to make some reservations online. And the fact that there is no penalty if we want to change it on the day is reassuring!

Did you split them on the app or on the website. Once I get to the page where it says change, if I click on it, it has all our names but no boxes or anything to pick just one. How do I get it to show all the names so I can pick just one to change?

I did it on the website -- once the FP+ are made, click on "Fastpass+" on your MDE pulldown menu.

This should display your travel dates. Select the day you for which you want the split FP+ and click "next."

Click on the "Change" Fastpass+ option and click "next."

Find the FP+ you want to change (e.g., Space Mountain) and click "change experience."

Now select the "new" experience that some of your party members are going to switch to (e.g., Buzz Lightyear). Clicking on it will pull up a mini-menu of your party members in which you are instructed to click which members of your party the change is to apply to. Anybody you de-select will keep the original FP+. Anyone you click on will be given the new FP+ experience instead. If you want to make changes to the time, you can do it now.

After that, when you pull up your FP+ list, it may not show more than 3 FP+ in the itinerary overview, but if you click on "edit plans" or otherwise select that day to show your itinerary in more detail, you should see all your FP+ for that day - including split ones.

After that, when you pull up your FP+ list, it should show the "split" FP+ (for example, if you split one FP+, your MDE itinerary page will appear to show 4 FP+ for that day instead of 3). It may take a couple of days to display properly, as it doesn't update often...
Thanks. I wasn't going far enough. I am so cautious about messing things up on MDE. They never could correct one problem with my daughter's account after we changed something.

I would recommend making your FP+ reservations before you get to the park. A friend of mine went down a couple of weeks ago, and waited in line at a FP kiosk for almost an hour to make her reservations. She was staying off site so she didn't have any other option.

Weather_Lady, thanks for the detail! That will come in super handy when I stalk the site after 60 days for those A&E M&G and BOG FP+'s!
If only our efforts were REALLY appreciated by those we plan for...sigh. :joyfull:

Yes - link their tickets to your MDE account. It's not too complex - just a little time consuming, but it may save you quite a bit of time messing with in-park kiosks while you're in WDW. :)

Going to have a look at my account now and reserve some FP+. Can I add the rest of my party's passes this weekend?

Am I also right in thinking you can reserve only 3 per person?

Yes, it's 3 per person.

You can add the rest of your party later and copy your FP+ plans over to them (I don't know how this is done, but I've seen it referred-to by others here), although there's no guarantee that all the same attractions will have availability at all the same times.

The limit is 3 per person per day.

If you make FP+ reservations for just yourself, you can use the "Copy" function to copy those reservation times to the rest of your party (assuming there's still availability for the exact time slots you already have) after they have admission tickets linked to their profiles.

Thanks. I've just found out I can't reserve them as I am not staying in a Disney Resort, I am only staying on Disney property. I guess I'll have to use the kiosks, at the back of the parks in order to avoid the queues! Hoping the Fastpass kiosks won't be too busy, we're not planning to arrive at the parks until about 10am. As we are all adults we can all stay til closing time without naps midday.
