Song of the South DVD?

I'm not sure where to put this, so please forgive me if this isn't the right place. I found a advertisement for Song of the South on this website (wdwmagic.com), selling DVDs of the movie. I know it hasn't been officially released, and want to know whether or not this is a legitimate place to purchase the movie. Has anyone purchased this from this website? (mysongofthesouth.com) The price seems too low and they only accept credit cards (I'd feel better with Paypal). I really want a copy, but I don't want to have a problem buying the movie from this site.

Anyone have experience with purchasing this movie from this site? Just wondering...

Thanks in advance for your input!

Well, I could make a better website than that in 10 minutes with Dreamweaver, so I'd be weary.

BUT, they accept Google Checkout, which is a 'paypal-esque' service, so the most you'll be riped off is the $19.xx you spend to get it. Honestly though, if you're not concerned with a legit copy, you could download one for free...

Well they all are here in the US.

It can be found on Ebay if you do a search. I have actually bought a copy from someone on Ebay a few years ago. It came out of Canada.

I'd hold off. Iger mentioned at the stock holder meeting that they are revisiting their decision to not release Song of the South again. So it may very well be getting an official release.

I have bought one of these copies a few years ago after doing a search on google. As I remember there were three difrent sites selling it. My copy came and I have been very pleased with it. It's a wonderful movie and should be seen by everyone.:)

Unless you're getting a 'real' copy, for Heaven's sake, don't BUY it. Keep an eye out for it in newsgroups or something (try alt.binaries.multimedia.disney).

If real copies are available, I guess I'd have to morally encourage you to get that. However--as has been stated here--I'm not sure that any real copies are for sale in the US...

Also, as was stated in one of the threads: this movie is ssssslllllloooowwwww! It is a lovely piece of history (probably groundbreaking to have live action and animation in the same frame), and the animated parts are not bad, but it IS hard to make it through some of the live action parts...

I would have liked to buy it from disney, but the only version I found was $800 and it was not the full movie. The movie has not been released since the '80s. There is so much negetivity surounding this movie and it is just plain sad. I realy prefer the older movies in which I felt the spirit of Disney is evident. This might not be the lion king or little mermaid, and I am thankful for that.
