Something that has always bugged me about Star Tours....

I know it made sense back in the day, as you were boarding the StarSpeeder through an actual movie set, what with the Director's chairs for Threepio and Artoo, and the callsheets stapled to the bulletin board and such. The AT-AT was meant to be a movie prop....you're walking onto the set.

But those days are gone. With Star Tours: TAC, you're no longer on a movie set, but walking directly into a Star Tours Depot. It only makes sense for them to create a few panels and cover up all of the unsightly innards.

Also...are the water cannons still working? Last time I saw them active was in 2011. My last trip in July 2013 they were off.

Aside from removing the stage signage and that transition corridor when you first enter the building, it is still themed like you are initially on a movie set and then in the movie itself once you enter the building. They half-***** any reworking of this idea, so it's still the same concept.

If they would actually put the effort, they could do some amazing things just with what they already have there. Make that thing move and shoot lasers off at night. Instead, they have Darth Vader completely out of character dancing to Metallica or whatever and being attacked by babies with plastic sticks.

It's always bugged me too. It looks unfinished, I get why it looks like that but it's kinda like they couldn't be bothered to complete the model.

If DHS is being refurbed, then perhaps Star Tours might get an update with it. Well it might?!

You are walking directly into a Star Tours spaceport in the Tomorrowland version of the ride. Given the spacey theme of Tomorrowland, it sort of makes sense, like having Indy in the jungles of Adventureland, for instance. At MGM, it literally makes no sense for a Star Wars spaceport to be in a building with a mural of the Endor moon and an Imperial Walker next to the Ewok Village in the middle of some vague Hollywood, CA setting. It never made any sense to have Star Tours in that park. They knew that, which is why they created the movie set theme. It's the only way it makes sense. Otherwise, there's no believable portal from this dreamy idealized Hollywood that never was to Star Wars.

It also bothered me because under the AT-AT was such an awesome themed walk through. Return of the Jedi was (IS) my favorite of the 3 so getting to walk through the Ewok village is awesome. But if you turn your head you are looking at the ugly back of the At-At. Completely ruin's the 'show'.

I get the theme but I am with others. It is getting to the point where the whole 'working studio' idea is no longer being pressed and other random stuff is being placed in the park. I would like Disney to make up its mind and decide once and for all if it is a 'working studio' or a park that celebrates movies, music, and stage. then they could easily fit for an immersive SW land should they decide to do it. I love love love the Studios but it is such a hodge-podge now I feel as though it has no identity sometimes.

Because Star Wars never, EVER involved itself with silliness until Disney came along.

OMG! Make it go away...I wish I could have not seen this. LOL

Well it's also not a "life size" AT-AT either. Just assume the exterior is still a movie set and the interior is you inside the Star Wars universe.

I really wish the AT-AT still fired water blasts though.
