Here recently there was a thread with a video about the silhouette in one of the windows of Tower of Terror. I was looking around on YouTube and found a video of the moving silhouettes in the Haunted Mansion. The thing that interested me about this is that I thought these were no longer functional. Has Disney recently fixed these?

-I don't know how to post YouTube videos on here, but go to PopSong1's channel on YouTube and it is the newest video.

Occasionally some of the front windows will work, usually the one left of the door. Most of them like the conservatory and stuff haven't worked in ages.

And HERE'S a video showing a silhouette in one of the windows in the Tower of Terror:

One of the posters at Youtube claims that the silhouette is a standup cardboard cutout of Rod Serling and that the whole thing is a gag set up by CMs, not management. I'm not buying that story, myself.

Another poster said that originally the Tower was going to include a real working hotel. Any truth to that statement? Anyone? Bueller? :D

Nah that YouTube comment is an obvious lie lol and no it was never supposed to be a real hotel, all the mechanisms take up too much room and the noise of the ride and screaming would be too loud and, why would they put a hotel inside the park?

Well, here's the video the OP was talking about:

But what are the silhouettes supposed to be? They just look like big black prickly things...

To me it looks like the bride running around with a candle with her veil trailing behind her but I believe it is supposed to be just a creepy traveling ball of light.

There was never a plan to put a real hotel into the version of Tower that they ended up building.

However (if I recall correctly), very early in the process, while they were still coming up with ideas, there was one concept that would have housed a real "haunted hotel" along with a ride element.
