Talk about bringing back memories! 1972 was the first year I visited the park. Don't remember much about it except for buying my Mom a ceramic Dalmatian figurine for $1.00. She still has it.

What is the last picture of?

It looks like the Haunted Mansion and the Rivers of America with no water. Looks like it was taken in Frontierland. Its so wierd to see the parks with barely any trees. And I never knew that the Teacups started out with no roof. I know the DL ones don't have a roof but I assumed FL's was ALWAYS there. Interesting pics! Thanks for posting!

Yeah its the Mansion, but the river was full, I remember riding the boat, I think the pic was taking from the area that is now SplM, BTMRR, with Tom Sawyers Island unfinished

adlib, it's not that there that many fewer trees planted but that there wern't mature trees and over thirty years they are now full and towering over the landscape of MK. As for the tea cups it wasn't till later thay they decided to to cover them with the roof to protect form the summer sun and the rain during the rainy season so they could operate them during extream conditions and I belive also to limit wear on the attraction especialy from inclement weather.

Now , Can't wait to see john's enhanced Pictures. My Pics from the 70s had that faded look as well, Probably from the fact that the processes used then dont hold there color as well was todays film does. Thanks to digital we can keep them as perfect as the day we take them as long as the Bits dont decay on the media used to archive them.

BTW John did you get that book from Ebay?

jmarc63- Thanks for clarifying :) If the River is indeed full, imagine what the view opposite from where the picture was taken looks like. I do see a Keelboat. They don't run those anymore do they. What a shame. Thanks again!

John hopfully it is in at least "good" contition if it is you have a steal of a deal in my opinion. Enjoy the book I have for many years. I use it for a refrence sometimes when checking the accuracy of some posts and at other times to rember the times I had in the 70s as a kid there.

Good Luck
