Some Awesome Ariel Photographs of Disney World

I have tried using local.live.com recently to look at Disney from above, and the 'Birds Eye' view was never available. But, yesterday I checked it out and now the 'Birds Eye' view is there, and it is AWESOME. Easily the best ariel views of all of the parks and resorts. Try it out! The photos are pretty recent as Everest is almost complete at AK and the Lights, Motors, Action stunt show theater is there at the Studios.http://local.live.com/When you enter the site, you will need to enter an address near the World (try Kissimmee, FL). Then move around until you find your favorite place and then click on the 'Birds Eye' link. You can look at things from North, South, East or West to get different perspectives on things. The first thing that struck me is how green the AK park is. You can barely see things through the massive amount of trees. No wonder I never get any sun tan when I visit that park!Have fun, and let me know what you think...I wasted several hours yesterday looking at things.

Have you tried the Google map version.
The Windows beta shows the parks about 8-10 years ago, yet google's are from 2004, and they are also in colour.
Saying that its great to get a retro view of the parks and the surrounding area, as it really makes you appreciate how much work is going on in the areas.

Windows beta's aerials are definently from 2004 and the birds eye views are from even sooner considering they have Everest in them...

Definently not retro, and where are you getting the idea that they arent in color?

The Reason I say this is because if you scroll down from the Animal Kingdom over the highway 192, you enter the area of Formosa Gardens.
The Sub Division of Indian Creek phase 2 has only just been marked out.there is no buliding work and no villa constructed.
I have owned a villa on this phase of the estate for 4 years.
The view of Everest is also just a clearing with little or no construction.

You are not using the Bird's Eye View imagery, which is most definitely from 2005.

You need to look at the birds eye view, not the aerial images.

Thanks,
I see what you mean with the birds eye views.
Shame the aerial imagery and maps arn't of the same dates and quality.
And it will be great when they are drag and zoom the same as Google.
Thanks for the help.

Wow, i looked forever and ever for it.

thank you!

i guess it makes a big difference when u change the direction around.

sorry for these silly questions, but i'm really interested in learning. it's really fun learning the resorts, what they look like, and exactly where they are. that way when i'm in wdw, on the bus, i can point and say, "there's such-n-such resort!"

i think i mixed up some of these up:
can someone check 'em for me?

Beach Club Inn
Boardwalk Inn
Caribbean Beach
Coronado Springs
Port Orleans French Quarter
Port Orleans Riverside
Saratoga Springs
Wilderness Lodge
Yacht Club

edited to add: and where's Old Key West

also, what's the difference between:
-the beach club inn and the beach club villas?
-the boardwalk inn and the boardwalk villas?
-the wilderness lodge and the villas at fort wilderness?

edited to add: i think i figured that out. the villas are the vacation club resorts, right?

(working on my wdw education)

None of your links are working.

As for you other questions the Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, and Wilderness Lodge are all deluxe WDW hotels. Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas and The Villas at Wilderness Lodge are all Disney Vacation Club resorts.

They are all right except Port Orleans FQ and Riverside and the Yacht Club. For the Yacht Club you show Boardwalk. For Port Orleans FQ you show Old Key West and for Port Orleans Riverside you show Port Orleans FQ.
