Well it looks like my company unknowingly paid for a trip to Disneyland for me (i am heading to LA for work) but i will have about a day and half to check out Disneyland. I keep telling my wife i am on a "scouting" mission for our trip next year with the kids. So while I am "scouting" what are some can't miss attractions and dining? I am staying in Anaheim so i might make my way over to downtown Disney at night.

I will be there from September 10-14th and have most of the day on the 10th and all day on the 14th (open until 1am).

Thanks in advance everyone.

Okay, I'm heading there today too, expect crowds from the d23 expo. It's been crazy these past few days. Anyway you can't miss these attractions:
- Matterhorn Bobsleds
- Alice in Wonderland
- StoryBookLand Canal Boats
- Pinocchio's Daring Journey
- Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
- Space Mountain
- Star Tours
- Indiana Jones Adventure
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Haunted Mansion
- Splash Mountain
You must try these places:
- Plaza Inn (fried chicken is awesome)
- French Market (Jambalaya is good)
- Jazz Kitchen Express (the beignets are heavenly)
Well there's just too much to see here in one day. Have fun!

September 13th is the beginning of Halloween season at DL so don't miss the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion layover and the Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy layover. They are unique to Disneyland.

Also do not forget about DCA, especially Carsland.

Thanks Raven. I am excited to be able to see this in Disneyland and my first Halloween in WDW 2 weeks later.

Your welcome.:) Looks like you're just in time to see the Halloween offerings at Disneyland. The only things you'll miss are the Halloween parade and fireworks. The good thing is, Soundsational is much better than the Halloween parade and Remember... Dreams Come True (the firework show you'll be seeing) absolutely trumps any Disneyland firework show by one hundred miles. You're in for a treat.

Make sure to say hi to Jack Skellington and Sally and check out the pumpkin carving.

Yeah we are pretty excited. We have hit almost every major holiday at WDW over the past 10 years but Halloween. My wife is a tad bit jealous that i get some "scouting" time without her but i will try to make it up at WDW.
