In August when my family & I are at WDW we are going to be going on Mission Space for the 1st time, however we plan on doing the new version of the ride that does not spin. Anyway we are debating if we should go there 1st thing when Epcot opens or if we should 1st go to Soarin & get a Fast Pass for Mission Space? I have said to my family do Soarin 1st because it's more popular. Anyway what do you all think?

If you get there right at opening, you should be able to walk on to both very quickly. However, I would choose Soarin' first.

I would go get a fast pass for soarin and then ride mission space thats what I do when I go there. But you will want to ride soarin twice it is very cool

I would do Soarin' first. That standby line gets ridiculous and they often run our of fastpasses early. I only waited 5 minutes on the standby line for Mission Space.

I have been on Soarin before & I thought it was amaizing. One of the best rides I have ever been on at WDW. I can't wait to back & ride it again.

Get a fastpass for Soarin', then go wait in the standby line for Mission: SPACE. M:S standby line is 10 min. at the max.

BEWARE: Mission: SPACE is INTENSE!

i would recomend soarin' first for 1 reason.
if you get on it early enough the queue wont be too long,M:S,though it doesn't feel it, but from getting in line to leaving the gift shop takes something like 20-25 minutes and that was last year (for me) when M:S didn't ahve the 2 choices, now it may take longer if you are planning to ride the green version.in that time soarin's queue could be horrendus! (sp?)
someone correct me if im wrong.

Also, see the post called "Riding Soarin'" where I've broken down the wait times. During the first three weeks of August, unless you are at Epcot an hour before opening and the first in line to get to Soarin, the ride is NOT a walkon. Within 5 minutes of opening, there is a 40 minute wait - within a half hour a 90 minute wait at peak. Go to Soarin' first and either ride or get a fastpass and return in an hour or two. M:S will never have more than a 20 - 25 minute wait. M:S is not one of the top two attractions at Epcot, which are Soarin' (far and away the longest lines - upto 4 hours in the afternoon) and Test Track (always long lines).

That's why I said we plan to ride the new version of Mission Space that does not spin.

test track?, long lines?, really?, iv always only ever had a 5 or 10 minute wait for TT in the middle of the day.
then again i go in september so it probably quieter.

Test track during peak periods has two hour plus lines -- during peak, the single rider line can even be an hour. September is considered the least crowded part of the year at WDW. The last week in August and the first three weeks in September (except for Labor day weekend) are considered WDW's "dead weeks".

I would also do soarin first, you can always get a fastpass for Mission Space if the lines are too long, but I love soarin, and it doesn't make you nauseous at all, (at least for most people) and no vomit bags either!

No
If you hustle to Soarin', get a FastPass and then get in Standby for Soarin', you can get in a ride on Soarin', then go to M:S, ride it and return for another ride on Soarin' with your FP. :D

Most like Soarin' enough to do it twice.

But be there before Park Opening... It'll help.

I'd definitely suggest doing Soarin' first, then hitting M:S later on. Soarin' often has outrageous waits for most of the day while M:S ususally has much more reasonable wait times for most of the day.

 me and my family did it twice last year, one after another :D.we queued for about 1hr 20mins the first time we rode, and nearly 2 hrs the second time.
we were park hopping to our favorite rides so we didn't mind waiting.

Labor Day this year is September 4th. You will find the park to be very busy from the 1st through the 4th. Labor day is a national holiday which has basically lost its meaning at this point in time, but which is marked by all businesses closing for the day on the 4th. That means that people head to places like WDW as they have a 3-day weekend. Over the years, Labor Day has evolved from a purely labor union celebration into a general last fling of summer festival. Other than that, your entire stay will be quiet from the 5th through the 15th. Labor Day, by the way, is considered as "10" day as far as crowd at WDW -- but it is not as crowded as the "13/14" crowd days on Easter, New Years, 4th of July, and Christmas Day. Plan to have longer lines at all of the parks the first weekend you are there. Then you will have practically no lines for the next two weeks.

Go on Soarin 1st thing and Mission:Space much later...around 7-9 you can pretty much walk on Mission, even on a busy day. Although this new Green option may change things a bit.

You've been given a lot of advice, but here's mine. The top three "thrill rides" (term used loosely) at Epcot are Soarin', Test Track, and Mission Space. Out of those three, the longest wait times are divided between Test Track and Soarin'. Mission Space has almost always been a 10 minute wait or less when I was there while those other two were over an hour at least.

So if the two you most want to get on are Soarin and MS, I'd run to the Soarin area. If the lines are less than 20 minutes. Go ahead and jump in line because they won't last like that long. By mid day they'll be long. If they're over 20 minutes then grab a fast pass. Check the return time on the Fast Pass, it'll probably be somewhere after 10:30.

If you use the standby line for Soarin, after you're done there stop by Test Track and check out the lines there. If they're short, go ahead and hop in line, if not grab a fast pass and head over to Mission Space, then come back later to do your fastpass ride on Test Track.

If you grab a fast pass for Soarin', then head over to Test Track and check out the lines (it's on the way to Mission Space anyhow.) If the lines are short, go ahead and jump in line. If not, head on over to Mission Space for standby which still shouldn't be more than 20 minutes max. Then head back for your fastpass ride on Soarin. Then go grab your fastpasses for Test Track if the lines are still long and enjoy the rest of the park while you wait for the fast passes there.

I know that was complex, but it makes sense to me. Either way, I would grab your fastpasses for either Soarin or TT first because those lines can get really long. I've never seen MS over 20 minutes, but who knows if the new version of the ride will make that line longer or not.

I would definetly say do Soarin first, it gets so busy and it is a ride that once you do it you will definetly want to do it more then once.
