Now that REVENGE OF THE SITH has opened and appears to be a critical and box office hit, I think the likelihood of a major revamp at the Studios is great.

STAR TOURS is an aging dinosaur of the parks; what was innovative and exciting once has been outdone by other attractions at Disney and Universal. Really, the entire STAR WARS area of the park could undergo a revamp. Yes, I know rumors have been flying for years about future changes to the attraction, but I think a simple swapping of the old film for a new one just won't cut it. I would love to see the *entire area* expanded to showcase more STAR WARS locales that guests can walkthrough. I would keep the soundstage-look of the exterior just to keep with the movie studio theme, but once inside, we should be transported into the STAR WARS universe.

and....

The area would really benefit from a new showcase attraction: the technology from Soarin' could be put to good use, allowing guests to fly through many different locations in the STAR WARS universe without the limiting constraint of the space-tour-gone-wrong concept. Yes, I know it would not make sense to be soaring through space in an open hang glider, but I doubt guests would throw up a fuss about the faulty theming.

Pod-racing, speeder biking, the fast airways of Coruscant, space battles -- all in a glorious IMAX-type format!

I am salivating just imagining what this would be like...

I would love to read your ideas for an expanded STAR WARS land!

Star Wars land? how about a Star Wars Theme Park!

i can see the "lands" now:

Naboo - the "mainstreet" of the place filed with shops and small attractions, plus the occassional gondola.

The Gungan Kingdom - featuring a gigantic aquarium, ala living seas.

Tattooine - featuring a Pod racers e-ticket ride that uses Test Track technology; Jabba's Palace with a special alien musical stage show; a droid themed dark ride through the world of the Jawas

Bespin Cloud City - the "tomorrowland" of the place.

Coruscant - the center of the park before with the Jedi Temple as the centerpiece. Featuring a "History of the Jedi" omnimover ride. Plus, Star Tours (Epidose 3 version) :D

the entire theme park could then be divided into 2 sections: The Rebel Alliance and The Galactic Empire

The Rebel Alliance:

Yavin 4 - With an e-ticket "initiation" ride that takes guests and turns them into Rebels in a special "test" this also includes a massive hangar filled with all your favorite spaceships (the falcon, the X-Wings, the Y Wings and all those other wings) you could also have another simulator ride here :)

Hoth - With a Wampa-themed e-ticket ride ala Expedition Everest.

Dagobah - Feauting an interactive AA Yoda.

The Galactic Empire:

The Death Star - A Massive geosphere (ala Spaceship Earth) is the main icon of this area.

Mustafar - no ideas yet :D

Endor - with a full scale recreation of the Ewok village and the Imperial base. Plus a ride that features the story of the Ewok movie. (this is where the empire and the rebels' land intertwine)

i'll post some more when i have more ideas :D
