Is the musical score to Soarin an original composition for the attraction or is it from another source (movie soundtrack, etc)?

The score for both versions of the ride are the same and was composed by Jerry Goldsmith, who is said to have come down from his first ride in tears. He thought the ride was visually beautiful and magical, "I'd do anything to be part of this project," he said, "I'd even score the film for free." The ride's score can be found on Music From Disney's California Adventure (2001 CD) and the newer Walt Disney World official albums.

The music for the main show (the film) was orginally composed for the attraction. The que music is a composition of various film soundtracks. The que music differs between Florida and California but this is because California's has a backstory where as ours does not.

What is the backstory for the Cali version? The Epcot version is, well, airport.

The california queue shows pictures of famous aviators and their aircraft, as well as some artifacts. Not sure if they are real or reproductions though.
