Well it all seems pretty certain that Soarin is going between Imagination and The Land. However, noone really knows if it will be considered part of The Land.. or if it was gonna be stand-alone. My vote is that it will be part of The Land. I was at Epcot today.. and tried to get a good picture of the area between the two. Here was my attempt ;)

It wouldn't work to make a new building in front and in between the two pavilions because it would stand out too much.. and make it seem like Imagination, Soaring, and The Land are all on top of each other. However, if the building is behind them.. you can't really design a separate entrance JUST for soarin.. that would be weird. So i'm casting my vote for it being part of The Land. ..

This is just all speculation of course.. ;)

EDIT: and in my haste ... i voted for the wrong entry.. bah! hehe

Soarin' could tie in nicely with a refurbed The Land Pavilion. I just pray that the budget is fattened up by the time construction begins and we will not receive the same film as DCA. To me that is lame-o.

It should be made part of the LAND pavillion. The theme for this attraction fits in perfectly with the theme for the LAND pavillion. In addition, if it was a stand alone pavillion, I think that it would necessitate destruction of the landscaping outside of the LAND as shown in the picture, and I wouldn't like to see that.

Oh yeah.. i forgot about that reason.. Its a very good one too. There really isn't any room other than the landscaped hill to put it if it was stand-alone, and even then it would almost be touching the land.

I do think that Soarin could fit into the Land theme wise... and man.. the Land could use a high-profile attraction like that ;)

Okay...

If it is part of its own pavilion, the pavilion MUST

1. Deal with aviation - past, present, future (in some kind of sense)

2. Not just be a queue, ride, and unload

If it is part of the land, it EVENTUALLY must...

1. Deal with the Land itself

2. Have some value involving the Land

Since neither of these have been determined, I cannot vote.

My vote has been stand alone from the start, The Land Pavilion has too much guest traffic as it is...a ride like Soarin would only increase traffic and make it a nightmare to either get in or out of the pavilion itself. :lookaroun

Also, a Soarin Pavilion would balance the number of pavilions on either side of FW. :D

They don't have much space to work with...but I think that there is enough room for atleast two "theaters" the queue and a small post show, plus a nice plaza in front of the pavilion.

Whatever happens...I think that Soarin is a nice addition to EPCOT.
