So is there an advantage to using a Disney authorized travel agent?

What I am asking is if there is an advantage financially or otherwise when going through a company like Kingdom Konsultants? will they find deals that I wont be able to?

AAA could not get us anything better than the Disney site. I don't know if an agent will get you anything better but they might be better versed in additional options.

A knowledgeable agent [KK's krew are particularly good] can keep track of deals as they come out and apply them to your bookings without you lifting a finger.

There is no "extra" cost to you having an agent do your bookings, they get their money from Disney. So, there are no disadvantages and a number of potential benefits. I've had Marie [ @wannabeBelle ] handle a number of trips for me in the past and was always very pleased with the service I got. I do everything myself these days, but I consider myself a "veteran" Disney traveler now. It was certainly worthwhile to me when I wasn't such a know-it-all. ;)

Until my son became a CM I always always used a travel agent, I also had them book our airline reservations. You need to pick an agent carefully that will be deligent in picking the best packages and airfares and use patience in getting the best of deals. When bad weather hits and flights are cancelled, my agent rebooks us, I don't have to deal with the airline. Also here and there we have had some hotel issues, not many but a few over the decades we have gone to Disney.

I saw someone on these boards post that there was something very wrong with their POR standard resort room and they were moved to AoA instead. I had the same experience also at a high attendance time. They contacted my travel agent and my family was moved to Animal Kingdom Lodge with a pool room view.

My independently owned travel agent has checked with WDW Travel, Apple, GoGo Travel, companies that book blocks of resort rooms. When Central Reservations didn't have rooms at POR both WDW Travel Corp and GoGo did. There are at times little perks that have come with our package bundles. A WDW hat with 3 pins per person, a free recreation pick for each person, bike, golf, mini golf or Disney Quest. One year in an off season week we were given a free breakfast daily with our package when free dining wasn't offered, TS or QS. One year we each were given a $25.00 gift card. As the day goes on I'll likely remember more small perks we were offered....

My travel agent usually pulls 4 competitive bids for the days and resort I wish, the price and the perks each one is dangling as bait. It is never more that central reservations and often slightly less. I love having the back-up when something goes wrong. My agent always swiftly fixes the bleeps in our vacation.

Agree, Also...companies like GOGO usually give an average of 10% to 20% discount rate on everything Disney.. depends on your type of deal with them..

I like TravelMagic! If I try to book the same exact vacation using the info I provide them, Travel Magic always comes back a bit cheaper. Also, whenever a package or deal happens, they are always contacting me with the cheaper rate.

If you go through Travel Magic - ask for Kathy!

AAA gave us free passes to Disneyquest for 2 people per room. My parents had no interest in going so my family of 4 went for free. It's a pretty awesome place when admission is free.
