So is disney going to expand park capacity on may?

Not likely until social distancing goes away, there’s not enough space to hold more people in socially distant lines or venues then current limits

Nope, very doubtful. Park capacity has been showing fuller numbers for a while and Disney is managing with the way things are at this point. Disneys going to probably keep the numbers as they are for a while. Maybe they will chance upping it when the summer comes if things continue to look favorable.

I have reservations for late October and hoping they keep the attendance levels the way they are. Even with this level, the lines are long for most of the popular rides and it looks very crowded for social distancing.

The thing is they’re running out of ways to up it. It’s basically max’d out right now until they either get rid of social distancing in lines or in ride vehicles. Without doing that there’s not much more room to put people.

the problem, as i see it, is that a good number of rides, splash, tot,,etc are loading at 50% capacity unless there is a large family group, that in turn makes the wait time, and quees, imo, twice a long as they should be.places like casey's and columbia harbour house cannot re-open as they are used for quees, they are needed as there are really few good quick service option, especially in mk. fully loading would greatly relieve this.

Yes, I agree with your response. I said if things look up they can chance upping numbers... I should have added... and when they relax distancing .

im asking cause its not even may 1 and most of the month its already at capacity...
I think they must have increased capacity, as the first week of May (when we will be down there) was completely booked as of yesterday. Today all parks except MK have availability - even HS, which books up right away.

Also, open the shows. Soon. There’s a much bigger problem than only loading 4/8 people on a MMRR car, and that’s the empty outdoor theaters right outside.
Although, I would love to see the shows come back and agree that, on the surface, it makes sense because they hold a large number of people, I think one argument against them would be that people in one place for an extended amount of time is different than the momentary passing in a mostly outdoor area. Yes, there are exceptions. Fantasmic is outdoor and most of the queue for Smuggler's Run is indoor. However, in most queues, people are theoretically not as close and especially not together as long. In a show, you're more likely to be near someone for a longer period of time. One concern with passing Covid is extended exposure to other people.

Add to that that some queues for shows are eaten up by longer queues for rides. For example, Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror both have their queues spill into the Fantasmic theater.

Also, many live entertainers were furloughed and have not been brought back yet.

So, it may not be quite as simple as opening shows to help with crowd control. Hopefully we'll see them start to come back soon.

They also did this for June last week. It sold out again and now there is more availability as of today.
