I found a video on Youtube of the widely-ridiculed opening of the 1989 Academy Awards show with Snow White, played by actress Eileen Bowman, who eventually sings onstage with her "blind date" Rob Lowe! :ROFLOL:

Can't remember exactly how Disney reacted to this, but it seems like they weren't too happy about this! :fork:

Disney sued. The Academy was surprised that someone would take exception to this since they've been staging awful musical numbers forever and so they issued a formal apology.

To prove there were no hard feelings, in 1992, Disney agreed to help out for the Academy. That year, Snow White returned to the Academy Award broadcasts, only this time, she was animated and would announce the winner for Best Animated Short. However, when the segment aired, the equipment got messed up and made it sound like, midway through through the presentation, Snow White burped.
