Cool story. When you combine this with the story of the CM being attacked at ToT it shows you that despite times of adverse work conditions most CMs still come through. They really are the makers of the magic.
I am blessed to have 2 healthy kids, but I have some friends who have children with autism and I’ve seen how challenging it can be at times. It’s really special to see something like this happen for them.
Yes! I have two children who have autism, so many members of my FB group tagged me so I'd see it - love it so much! It's people like this CM and the random woman who hugged me in Walmart and whispered that I was doing a great job who make it easier to get through the moments in which clueless people make cruel comments.
Saw this and it reminds me of some of the truly special people that work at the parks. It's hard not to have tremendous respect for this CM, and others through the years. My favorite is the Gaston interaction with a little girl. That was one of the hardest I've ever laughed.
All honesty can't begin to explain how CM's make the magic. I see people really relinquish their hearts to characters and these CM's do so much to make guests feel loved there. Can't not love this.
Something similar (not as elaborate) happened on my last trip in July. My nephew is on the spectrum and was having a little meltdown at the Launch Bay gift shop over the lack of availability of Star War Legos. Matthew, a CM, saw the signs of the meltdown and took him under his wing and taught him the Star Wars alphabet and gave each kid in our party a card with their name spelled out using the alphabet. He also directed us to another store in DHS outside Star Tours to choose from more Lego sets and called over to the store before we arrived there to let them know that my nephew was big fan. We found out later when he was distracting my nephew with the cards, another CM called somewhere and a Storm Trooper arrived to escort us all to the other gift shop. It made my nephew's day. I did email Disney about it so that they could recognize these wonderful CMs.
