Snorkel in the pool?

Hello!

Does anyone know what the rules are about toys and other things in resort pools? My son, who turned 4 in May, has just started swimming on his own. The catch is he will only do it if he has his goggles on. The goggles cover his nose. He also really prefers to have his snorkel. Are those allowed in the pool? I will definitely leave his fins home, if only because they are big and annoying to pack. I feel like Ives seen signs that say goggles aren't allowed on the slides, but can't remember anything else. Any ideas?

No idea what the official rules are, but I have seen several kids with them and nothing was ever said.

I am sure it is like most things. As long as he is using it as a snorkel and not a way to shoot water at people from across the pool, it should not be an issue.

Thanks. He has no idea that it could be used to shoot water and he always has one, and usually has two, adults with him who would quickly put a stop to any misbehaving.

We will pack his snorkel. Worst case is he's asked not to use it.

I've seen lots of kids and even a few adults swimming with them at POFQ pool. I heard no comments from any of the Disney lifeguards other than once, an adult was told to be careful as he was doing a lot of diving and ascending near groups of others.

I just wanted to comment that this is pretty awesome. I'm an avid diver so was thrilled when my kid turned 4 and I felt like he was old enough to snorkel (still counting down the days/months/years til dive certification ;) ). We practiced in the bath tub during the winter, and there was a learning curve with using the snorkel. You're lucky that he's already a pro!!

I'm actually not that strong of a swimmer, so we've been very happy that he loves it so much. I think I was traumatized by some horrible swim teachers when I was little. My sister dives and can't wait to take him diving someday.
