Pre-Trip Snap Crackle and POP Century 1st Timers!

I just got done with our families November trip report the other day(The That Family on Small World Was so Bogus), and now I am starting our pre-trip report! So exciting! Now before we begin, or last trip was truely a magical one.

For the first time ever we actually went to wdw twice last year. Te first time was right before Declan's 2nd birthday, and that kid wanted nothing to do with Disney. It was his second trip and he hated it! Didn't like the rides or the characters. :(

We had stumbled upon some family money from a dead relative later that summer, and said, what the hell, we are gonna go back to Disney world! Me and my wife have been countless times throughout our lives, however we both had never experienced Xmas time there!

Our November trip turned out to be magical! It was the first time just our family of 4 went with no one else tagging along and with the Xmas party, decorations, and osbourne lights we just enjoyed it so much! Declan enjoyed it even more!

What a difference 6 months can make! He was a total different kid from the last trip! Loved every minute of it! Loved the resort (all star movie toy story section), loved the rides, and would literally run up to each character to give them a big hug! So precious!

Once we got back home, he became obsessed with wearing everyone's magic bands and would constantly ask to see videos on YouTube of shows and rides! That's when we decided we had to start planning another trip!

The cast includes myself, Steve (28), Megan (32), and our 2 boys, Landon (5) and Declan (2.5). He will be turning 3 the month after we go, which is actually why we wanted to go in the spring again, he would still be free!!!

We will be flying out of Chicago Tuesday,May 6, and returning Tuesday, May 13. We will be trying another new resort for us, Pop Century!

So in addition to the new resort with the nice spring discount applied, we also got 5 day tickets and the dining plan! Although I wish the dining plan was free like in the fall, it is a must do for us! I like having all the meals essentially paid for already so I don't have to keep track I that much more money spending while I am there!

And this is the entire reason why we need to go again, moments like this one...

Up next will be our itinerary for the week!

It wasn't our first choice but, we stayed at CBR last month. We got a free dining pin & POR wasn't available. Anyway, we LOVED it! Read ALOT of bad reviews but, we thought it was great! We loved the pool & the Caribbean feel of the resort! You can watch the Epcot fireworks from the resort. The only thing that wasn't great was the food. The food courts at POP & AOA are soooo much better! We stayed in Trinidad North building 31, it was close to everything. So enjoy your stay & looking forward to reading about it when you post!

UPDATED DINING ITINERARY!

So today we officially booked everything for our vacation! Pop Century with a request to be in the 70s wing! We updated our dining itinerary as well. We dropped 2 table restaurants in favor of trying out a dinner show! ;) this will be our first dinner show, The Spirit of Aloha!

We just went and saw Disney on Ice today, and after seeing the "Hawaiian" portion of the show, my wife wanted to book this! I ended up dropping both Trails End Buffet and 50s Prime Time! Boo for dropping 50s, as I have literally wanted to try this restaurant for the past 3 years now and it never seems to work out :( O well, there's always next time!

Tuesday May 6
-Pop Century check in
-Pool and DTD
-Not sure if we want to do dinner at DTD or Resort yet?!?

Wednesday May 7
-DHS
-Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine ( I know it gets a lot of flack for food quality ) which I think I'm somewhat in the minority when I say it wasn't as bad as everyone said it was! This one is for the boys anyway! They are excited for the new characters that have been added!
-dinner somewhere down sunset blvd
-Fantasmic

Thursday May 8
-MK
-Late breakfast brunch at Chef Mickeys
Main Street Electric Parade
Dinner at Tortuga Tavern most likely

Friday May
- Epcot
-lunch at Electric Umbrella
-dinner at Garden Grill! A new favorite for us!
-Illuminations

Saturday May 10
-no parks for today!
- swimming, resort hopping, maybe DTD?
-Spirit Of Oloha dinner show
-watch fireworks after dinner on the Poly Beach!

Sunday May 11
MK
-FP for Be Our Guest for lunch
-Tonys Town Square
Watch Wishes

Monday May 12
-AK
-breakfast at Ohana
-dinner either at AK or our resort!

We cannot wait for this trip! So glad everything is all officially booked and now the countdown begins! After I booked we immediately chose our MB colors! I'm glad I will have 2 now and that I can mix and match which one I want to wear!

Steve- green
Megan- red
Declan- blue
Landon- orange

I hope I made the right choice with staying at Pop! This is a new resort for us! Any feedback will be much appreciated! Can't wait to start booking rides starting March 7th!!!

Due to unfortunate events, we have to cancel our trip for May! :( we are still going to go this year, but will have to postpone our trip until November now!!! i am going to call disney tomorrow and change everything around! we are all very disappointed for the delay, but excited we still get to go! We will probably do another Xmas party and are booking during the weeks that look like they are doing free dining, comparing last years dates. so this will save us money in the end and make the trip even cheaper than May! i will update our itinerary as soon as i work out all the details!!!

Just got off the phone with Disney and have everything rescheduled! It took only about 10 minutes on the phone and all is well! i was able to keep everything i had before, with the exception of our ADRs, which i can start scheduling May 15! I just need to make sure i look out for the free dining offers so i can change my package once that happens! Historically, it looks like Aug 1st is when that deal comes out, so i will definitely be on the phone first thing in the morning! I made sure to go for dates that aren't blacked out during that time! so here is our new official itinerary! I am excited to get to do the Xmas party again like last year! we had so much fun!
