Smaller newer attractions

In my opinion, what has blighted Bob Iger's tenure over the theme park division is new attractions. Granted, we have a hardcore following on here who don't mind there is no new attractions or changes (this minority hate change), but there is a majority who do complain at the lack of any updates, lack of any new attractions. Disney has changed very little in the 10 years i've been going since a child, and under Iger - Disney in Orlando has barely changed at all, if anything lost attractions.

Now granted, we are getting Avatar (in the year 2034), and it's going to be a great big attraction - but we've waited a nigh on age for that. They've announced we'll get a Star Wars Land, but trust me that will be far far far away. Bob Iger won't spend money like that, it will hurt profits.

However, i am excited this year for a few reasons - we are getting small updates to the parks, and a few smaller attractions. These small updates are essential, every year to keep things afresh and keeps us moaners happy. Let's look at the attractions due in 2016 :

1) Frozen attraction - now granted this is a cheap overlay of Maelstrom, and it's typical of Bob Iger not to want to spend money, but i still welcome a new attraction.
2) Nighttime Safari - i'm immensely looking forward to this. I've done nighttime safaris at parks in Singapore and Japan, and they are fun and offer a different experience.
3) Rivers of Light - again a new show at night, most welcome.
4) Possible new Soarin' video - urgently needed as the current video is in ghastly shape.

Now these 4 new attractions, in my opinion wouldn't cost the world - perhaps a miniscule of the Avatar Land budget. But they are updates, and it keeps things a fresh. However, i am not including the ghastly Star Wars Launch Bay as an update (just horrendously cheap).

You do need big lands, and huge attractions, but what i feel Disney has missed in these past 10 years or so, is the addition of smaller updates. The scatter gun approach of we build massive or nothing at all is silly.

For 2017, they should be preparing the same - a few smaller attractions, little updates to Epcot, a new show here and there, keeps things ticking along nicely whilst we wait 20 years for Bob Iger to build Star Wars Land.

p.s. despite the nonsensical budget quotes over Fantasy Land expansion, i concider to be a mid budget expansion, it was more about adding Land space than any new attractions.
