Ok, this might have already been discussed earlier, but I did a search and I couldn't find anything on it, so don't get mad at me if you have :)

I heard, like, a week ago, the day of the shooting at the LA airport, that a plane crashed at a nearby "theme park". It was on the news mabey once, and I never heard anything else about it. I am guessing it wasn't at Disneyland and it had to be a pretty small plane, but has anyone else heard aboout this? I was overseas at the time, and I just remembered it today.

It was in San Dimas. And although there is a water park called Raging Waters in San Dimas, from all the reports I read and saw, the crash occured at a lakefront at a State Park. I'm not sure if this park is adjacent to Raging Waters, but since the news reports never mentioned the water park, I'd assume that what you got was a "teaser" that was designed to get attention.

And it got yours!

It happened during the afternoon on the 4th of July. The pilot of the small plane died as well as two people on the ground. Pretty tragic. Sounded either like mechanical failure or pilot error. I never caught any story that said one way or the other what actually caused the plane to go down. Stories here were mostly about how devastated the families of the deceased were.

Truth is I haven't seen tv news in a while, and my paper reading last week was sporatic--a few went right into the recycler-because work kept me too busy to read and there's not much to watch on tv. Did manage to catch the drek that was the baseball All-Star Game, though. Don't get me started on what should've happened in that one!

Hope this is what you were looking for. If now, perhaps someone else out there knows more about new fidings and revelations or the actual details and stats on the plane crash.

Pilot error? Nope, people said that the engine died on take-off. There was nothing the pilot could do, the plane became a falling piece of metal after take-off.
