In a couple of weeks Sleeping Beauty will be released on region 2 DVD. Hooray. I know that the French and German editions have two discs. Does this go for England aswell because amazon.co.uk doesn't seem to say which it is.

Also Peter Pan is being released at the same time, will that be an exact copy of the R1?

What's that???

A modified DVD player is one that can play ANY region DVD even tho you dont live in that area...is it legal..no..is it enforced..no...

Regions are basically the way the movie companies "regulate" who sees what when and what they see...Region 1 is the US/Canada...region 2 is the UK...so for example..lets say we in the US get a DVD in december...but the UK just recently got that same movie in the theaters...they wouldnt be able to just buy one of our Region 1's and play it...unless they had an "illegal" dvd player...

make sence?

Thanks, the DVD's have picked up since the first few with no extras.

I made my Grundig player multi-regional by typing in a code but it sent the whole bloody thing haywire and flickered through all the DVD so I changed it back and the same happened to the R2 discs. Now whenever I want to watch a R2 disc either have to go through a long process of playing the movie then going to the menu, then playing the movie then going to the menu, then playing the movie etc.
OR I insert Snow White it plays it perfectly and then I reinsert the other disc and it works again. Occasionally it still flickers. I gave up on the R1 discs.

If anyone knows how to fix this I would love to know. Also the insert disc and settings menus of the player flicker no matter what and always have. So please help, anyone?

Hmm..not sure how youd fix that without having to get a new DVD player..

I personally do all my DVD viewing from a TV output on my computer...my DVD-Rom drive is region free and the software doesnt know any better (I reset it depending on the region i need)...i know a lot of people have funked up their DVD players by hardwiring it... :(

Yeah, I watch the R1 discs on my computer but it only allows me to change the settings 4 times so as soon as I change it back to R2 its set.

Well, if the drive is free of any region locking and your only problem is the software, there are a few ways around that ;)

Sorry, can't help about the R1 disc but the UK version has been released and is only one disc, so I'm going to get the German version:lookaroun
