We are booking for 5 and trying to find options.

We have stayed at the following that sleep 5 in studios

Poly
Grand Floridian
Boulder ridge ( seemed small )

@Big Hair thought the boardwalk had some upgraded.

Obviously we wanna be as frugal with points as we can. We are trying not to venture into the villas if we can help it. Just weighing our options.

Any input from you guys would be appreciated.

You could also stay at BC and BWV in a studio.

True but they are going to feel tight if the OP thought WL was small. But those are the last 2 studios left. OKW only sleeps 4 and same with SSR, BLT, AKV and CCVC.

I truly think one should try them all if they can. I will also make a mention that studios are the hardest to book since so many are trying to be 'frugal with points' It's gotten so bad I think it's really causing issues at some resorts.

Well excellent! I'll try and find a floor plan
Touring plans have their room finder tool which will show villa types and room numbers. Not sure if you have to have a paid subscription to use it or not. ( Since I do, I've never noticed if you have to or not).
They're easily found on the DVC site. They are very very similar to BRV. Though the link below seems to have the older layout. They have the pull out murphy bed as well.

So @helenabear and I have gone for different interpretations of "floor plans"! :D

Mine is for the layout of the resorts themselves, with the locations of the studios. @helenabear's are the room layouts of the studios. Both could be useful to you lol!

Important question... Are we talking 5 adult size people or a mix of adults and children.

Makes a difference. There are DVC rooms that could accommodate a mix (especially with small kids) that would not hold 5 adults.

Beach club studio villa was pretty small for just two of us no idea how you would put five in there.

For some people, being cramped isn't an issue if it saves them having to use more points to get a 1 bed or larger. It all depends on priorities I guess.

We wouldn't do it, we always get a 1 bed. And we always fold up the pull outs during the day anyway.

The Murphy bed is seemingly OK up to around 5ft 6/8 inches. According to some, that is!

The largest Murphy bed in the studios is Poly. Boulder Ridge is small. I'm 5'8". I had no problem sleeping on the bed in a Poly studio. I wouldn't even attempt it at either Boulder Ridge or VGF. The table in the studio at Boulder Ridge is attached to the Murphy bed, so you lose it when the bed is down.

Frankly, if you've got 5 adults, I'd go with a Poly studio, which also has the split bath.
