skip a park, or do all of them?

My husband and I are heading down to WDW for our first kid-free trip anywhere in 4+ years in December (99 days-- hooray!) We will arrive on Sunday mid-morning, and leave Wednesday morning.

We are staying at AKV. The first day we are headed to AK, the next day we are headed to MK. The last day we will head to MK sometime in the mid-afternoon since we have MVMCP tickets for that evening. My question is: what should we do in the morning/afternoon that day?

Would you:
1) Go to DHS and ride ToT, Rockin Rollercoaster, etc., and then head Epcot before the party?
2) Skip DHS and just spend more time in Epcot before the party?

We are AP holders and will be back in the summer with the kids, but I am not sure how I want our last solo day to go. I know I am obsessing and we really can't go wrong either way, but how would you prefer your day to be scheduled? I'm hoping for some food/ride/insights that will help us decide.

The VIP ultimate day of thrills tour would be perfect! It's actually reasonably priced, if you like rides that would be a fun day before MVMCP.

I would go for #1 also. You are just the couple so getting around is much easier than with the kiddos. As for us we don't get to go to often so I would want to put my one big eye on as much as we could .Go for all you can and rest when you get back.:geek:

Thanks for the input! I think we're going to go for it. We won't book ADRs that day so we have as much flexibility as possible. I'll make our FastPasses for the morning in DHS. :)

I think you are missing the best opportunity of all. Staying at AKV, hang out by the pool, do some animal watching, lunch at Sana'a, then head over to AKL, decorate some cookies, take the culinary tour, watch some more animals and enjoy both resorts. That, to me, would be a wonderful option.
Oh, we will definitely do this on our first night. We have 6:20 dinner reservations at Sanaa, so we plan to make it an early night and just hang around the resort. We are new(ish) DVC members and AKV is our home resort so we want to explore, but we also don't get away much without kids and want to be able to go on rides together.

If riding all the thrill rides is important to you, than I would definitely hit DHS in the morning and get through everything as quickly as possible. However, DHS is in a state of disarray right now due to all of the changes that are coming to the park over the next few years. Seeing as you know that you will be back in a few months I would seize the opportunity to spend a leisurely (and surprisingly romantic) morning and afternoon strolling around the world showcase and hitting as much of EPCOT as you can.

You will also want to make sure that you aren't completely exhausted for MVMCP and park hopping/trying to stick to a very tight schedule might run you weary before you get there.

I hope you enjoy your first sans-children vacation in many years!
