what is the relative size of there structures? TLM at one point looked gigantic, but now in the building stage it looks small. smaller than DCA's. So is it supposed to be around IaSW size? as for the restaurant, whats about the same size as it would be by the end result?

It's the same size as DCA's. We're getting an exact replica of the actual ride, but different queue.

BatB is large, but not as large as TLM.

Hopefully (and probably), Snow White will be taking up the most room in this expansion. :animwink:

i think a lot of the construction pictures are a little misleading. i remember seeing all the steel work for it, and looking at one of the pictures and thinking "is that it???" AND then i saw a picture of it afterwards with a workman standing on it/near it and i was like "oh!?!? thats pretty big!"

With all the princess cottages cut from the expansion - Belle is still getting hers correct? And essentially the Story Time with Belle (recently bumped by the Tangled meet and greet) will return to Belle's new cottage.

According to Al Lutz the DCA version of Little Mermaid will not offer Fastpass.

But the WDW version of the ride will offer Fastpass. Fastpass requires a much bigger queue area for the various entry lanes for Standby Entry, Fastpass Entry, Distibution Entry/Exit, plus a space for the distribution machines themselves, and lots of space to stack up the Standby queue.

Also our mermaid building goes down into the basement level if Im not mistaken, so theres alot more space than what is seen with just the walls at eye level.
With fastpass here that means the standby line is going to be soooo slowwww. Pan and Pooh are awful with that. When the standby line says 30min its usually double that, so many times we gave up and ducked out. Hopefully mermaid wont be this way.

I wouldn't expect more than a 20 minute wait like Buzz is

I asked Jim Hill about this at the end of our show this week. One of the things he explained about the Fastpass usage in Disneyland vs. Disney World is not just the space requirement, but also the types of guests at each park.

As we all know, Disneyland has a larger percentage of annual passholders and visitors that come 10+ times a year. These people are very familiar with using the Fastpass system efficiently. The same is not as true in Disney World. I know whenever talking to people about their upcoming trip is to make sure they understand the Fastpass system - proper education on it can save you hours.

Didn't they learn their lesson that high-capacity Omnimovers don't *need* FastPass? Ugh....

Haunted Mansion's FastPass was a complete failure. You'd think they'd learn their lesson. (Then again, Buzz still has FP...)

It is taking up the same space as the old sub building. So if you watch a vid of the old 20k, from the point that you entered the show building to the exit is the space that TLM will take.

It is tough to judge scale when looking at pics, as to what is big or small. Comparatively it is smaller than HM I think, but if you could drive subs around the same real estate and tell a show, it is more than big enough for omnimovers and many many show rooms within.

Fortunately Disney doesn't pay attention to internet math.

I'm a huge fan of fastpass, but I have to agree that it's not needed here - done properly, an Omnimover shouldn't need it as it should be continuously loading.

It's also why (and I've been criticized for saying this before) I dearly hope there are no "stop and wait" pre-shows in TLM. I want a wonderfully detailed queue, but with an Omnimover it's just a bad design decision.

I wouldn't trade in the classic HM pre-show for the world now, but it is true that it mucks up the works and reduces ride capacity, even under the best of circumstances (both rooms running, for example).

Don't think there will be a pre-show, I think that was confirmed a while back....

But as you said, HM has their classic pre-show that everyone knows and loves and they keep their capacity going. Having the cake and eating it too :slurp:

Actually this is not true. The Stretch rooms themeselves actually have a higher hourly ride capacity than the ride. The only thing that mucks up the HM's capacity is the ride system itself.

You should say that the stopping of the ride system to get quest that require addiitonal help. Not saying it should not be done, but this slows the ride down a lot.

This is something we have heard will be addressed in Little Mermaid. There will be special ride vehicles that can accommodate a wheel chair do the passenger won't have to transfer.
