Six Flags says rides are safe

I feel safer on a roller coaster than in my car to tell you the truth.. I think the Six Flags Great America, Gurnee has been getting it bad. There were a couple of incidents that happened a couple of years ago which caused all kinds of politicians to say rollercoasters arn't safe.

I'm glad to hear that! We had a park about 30 min from where I lived called Jazzland. Their main attraction was this big wooden coaster called the "MegaZeph." The first time I went on it, I had probably the worst headache I ever had for the rest of the day... I was miserable. The 2nd trip was even worse! Shortly after taking off, the thing stops right at the top of a pretty big drop... well, after waiting about 20 min, a few guys come and tell us we have to get off the coaster b/c they weren't able to get the ride going safely again. So, we all had to walk down these very narrow steps all the way down to the bottom. I was terrified (and I'm not one to really be afraid of heights). When we got down, we got free passes and whatnot, but I haven't been back since. I've heard it's happened to a couple more people also.
But anyway... the reason I'm saying all of this is b/c last year, six flags bought out Jazzland and said they were going to add more rides and all this fun stuff. Hopefully, they'll live up to their expectations and make the existing rides safer!
