Single Riders

My tip is a small one, and maybe it's something everyone knew about before, but I wanted to post just in case.

Even though a ride may not have an official single rider line, it doesn't hurt to ask the cast member about one.

I did that for space mountain last friday. The standby line was 40 min long and the fastpass computers were broken. I went up to the cast member and asked if they had a single rider line, he said no but said to wait "just a moment over here". He then slipped me a "switch rider" pass and let me in the fast pass entrance. I was on the ride in 10 min. Had I not opened my mouth I would have been waiting the 40 or missed out on the ride.

I couldn't find the single rider for everest so I missed out on that the previous day, and I didn't want to make the same mistake twice!

The Everest single rider line is not that evident, if I recall correctly, but it is there and I used it and it took me less than 10 minutes to get on, and I was even in the front row.

And yeah, it doesn't hurt to ask. I was at the Tower of Terror this past Sunday, had a fastpass and was in line and they came over and asked for single riders to fill an empty spot in an elevator ... so a lot of times they ask as well. Just open your mouth and ask and I'm sure most CMs will be nice about it and do their best, within reason.

Single riding is a must on things like Test Track for me.

Me too, jonny. For EE, this is a godsend - I'm the only person in my family who rides, it, and although they always offer to wait for me, I feel bad if my whole family has to wait for me to ride something...Single Rider Lines really do help.

I'm also the only one who rides RnRC, so that's a quick one for me...first thing in the morning I get a FP for ToT and hit the Single Rider Line for RnRC...two of the busiest lines in the park are done in around a half hour, freeing up the rest of my day at DHS. Of course, now that TSMM is open, that's going to throw a bit of a wrench in that well-oiled machine .

With TT, my family doesn't mind riding separate (although two of us usually end up together anyway), since we don't buy the photos. It is just so much easier to use the Single Rider Line in TT, definitely.

Madhatter06, that is a GREAT tip about Space Mountain. The Single Rider Line was barely open before it closed, and once or twice after I asked about it, but I pretty much gave up in recent trips. Your experience will definitely inspire me to ask on my next trip - you're right, it can't hurt!
