Single Day

Hello! - If someone just pops in for the day - walks up to the gate, buys a ticket, stays a handful of hours, then heads out - they really have no options to fast pass anything. Is that correct? Just at the mercy of the crowd...

It's more accurate to say "fewer" options. Almost a negative on 7DMT and from what I hear, Princess Fairytale Hall. The rest is a crap shoot.

I knew it. I referred to a casino game and had a hunch the filter would block it. LOL.

Haha! Nice. I got what you meant! Thanks for the reply. Yea, I wouldn't expect to just walk in the day of and expect to hit any of the marquee attractions. Might be a day of 15 rides on the TTA.

I did this recently. No Fastpass was available for any headliners, but rides with less than 15 minute waits (so no Fastpass needed) had lots of space, unhelpfully. The lines for the kiosks were so long I just didn't bother and did everything standby in the end.

Could you please advise on what attractions you were actually able to get on with wait times?

We are chaperoning a marching band, technically with park hoppers, but the plan is currently to take away their tickets once they get in to make sure there is no leaving the park. I think it's a bit of overkill. We are staying off site, so it's not like they could go back to a hotel room or anything. I am trying to push to have the band be able to use the fastpass+ system either with or without the magic bands.

With the magicbands or tickets, we should be able to buy the whole photopass /memories package for the entire band and really get a value out of it, besides the ability to increase the likelihood of actually getting on rides that we paid to have access to, am I right ?

Any help and suggestions are appreciated.

I don't know about how it works with groups and PhotoPass etc., but as far as wait times go, on average standby lines are about 50 minutes for the mountains, and 60 minutes for 7 Dwarfs, with everything else less, so that's what you'd be looking at if you didn't reserve Fastpass slots in advance, something I wouldn't advise with a big group as people will want to be doing different things.

If everyone has their own ticket then if anyone does want to make a Fastpass reservation they can do so at the kiosks from whatever's left, but choice on the day is likely to be quite limited, so many people just don't bother and trade the few minutes extra in line for the freedom of being able to ride whatever and whenever they like, instead of just the attractions MyMagic tells them to ride.
