Without ruining it for anyone else, can anyone give me a rough idea what kind of ride this is? I'm wondering is it just a simulator ride or more of a coaster ride? Basically i want to know if there are any big drops on it? Real drops not simulated ones which i can handle.

Basically (as far as the ride system goes) it is identical to Back to the Future. The only differences I can spot are the higher quality video, less intense motion, and easier to get into seats.

You really thought the video was of higher quality? I'm sure the video itself is, but the projection system still looks as faded and grainy as ever. (imo)

Yeahh.. Its basically EXACTLY like back to the future. Without the motion sickness (well not that bad) and the bumping parts. The video quality I think is better.. The protection for me wasn't that grainy at all.. It seemed like we were actually in it :) Universal did a nice job on that ride.

I miss the smoke effect while reaching 88 MPH from BTTF ride. But I also love what The Simpsons writers, and Universal, came up with. Still a damn shame, Universal must use stuff from other banners, without even considering their own history.

Anyways, I know some people that can handle coasters but gets sick with simulators, and vice versa. In terms of intensity, Mission Space is probably more intense. The drops in this attraction is very minor, and while it is a little jerky - it's still very minor. The line queue and the pre show is worth the ride itself.

If I remember right (and I'm by no means a video person), the projection systems are entirely different. BttF used film and was billed in some circles as Omnimax. Simpsons is all digital projection and apparently uses some of the largest (if not the largest) video servers in the world. Apparently there are only 4 video servers of its size-- USF uses 2 (USH uses the other 2)
