At MK today and noticed they are painting the turrets silver? Any ideas on why the color change? Anything to do with DL 60th?

Silver Turrets?

Very likely to be an undercoat of paint that will be painted over.

Simply a undercoat for the layer of blue they are going to paint them. They did it last year as well.
Ahh that makes sense. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do. I also noticed the Christmas trees right outside the windows of CRT.

Probably an aluminum or zinc undercoating to prevent corrosion.
